Almost 48 hours out, my arm is still sore, but it isn’t as bad as it was yesterday!
Hi science friends, I’m googling a lot and reading CDC but can’t find a solid answer, maybe you can help please? Is it ok to get the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine one day early (after 20 days instead of 21)? A few things I’ve seen say up to 4 days early is ok, and a few other things say a few days later is fine, but NOT any earlier. Does anyone know the official answer if there is one? The nurse scheduled me for 20 days, but she didn’t seem too sure when I asked if it was ok at the 20 day mark. Eep.
1 day early is fine. Based on what I’ve heard in the medical meetings at work, 2-3 days early and up to a week late seems to not be a big deal. Haven’t seen papers on it, but I trust the people who are talking about it.
Thank you very much! I felt like that was a semi-neurotic question to ask, but also I’m 8.5 months pregnant, so my brain is definitely not in peak form and it seems to be manifesting as anxiety about weird things. Yesterday I legitimately worried that my daughter would be eaten by an alligator. An alligator. WTAF?
Here the Walgreens are scheduling all vaccine 2nd doses at 28 days whether it’s Pfizer or Moderna. Apparently 28 days is in range for both shots and this covers them regardless of what they receive (which varies from store to store).
(I got Pfizer and admit I’m a little nervous about a last minute scramble in case my appointment gets lost or something, which does happen. But from what I read, once you have your first dose in, people are very willing to make sure you get your 2nd and invested in helping that to happen; it just might end up being a long drive.)
The news that the Boston Marathon is “happening” this Fall is sooooo exciting!!!
“The Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.) has announced that if road races are allowed to take place as part of the Massachusetts reopening plan, the 125th Boston Marathon will be held on Monday, October 11, 2021.”
A friend of mine has signed up to run virtually. I’m so tempted to join her.
Oh and 1/3 of the state has received at least one dose of the vaccine. I have just under 3 weeks till I can book my appointment.
My college is offering an open vaccine clinic to students, faculty, and staff, no appointment needed.
Umm OMG I may be eligible for the vaccine 2 weeks earlier than I thought. I knew smokers were coming up in 4/5 but I think this includes former smokers. I smoked a lot for like 10 years but quit a while back so didn’t even think to check and then a friend mentioned that in NC you only have to have smoked 100 cigarettes to be eligible. MA just says “Smoking, current or former”
Do you live in Florida or Louisiana? If so, slightly valid concern.
My governor is pushing legislation to make requiring proof of vaccination illegal.
I really hate my governor.
I saw a photo of a news conference of them yesterday announcing… something… and there were like 10 people, all standing around with no masks on…
He is an absolute horrible leader. I advise other usa folks to keep an eye on him, as he is being floated as a likely presidential candidate for 2024.
OH GOD
Yeah I apologize on behalf of my stupid ass state now.
I gag when I see people praising him on my Facebook newsfeed, and I share your concern about 2024.
Close! We just moved to the Carolinas. So slightly valid and relatively new concern. Where I’m originally from (New England), most fresh water is fair game. Down here every drainage puddle houses a monster. I’ve lived here before and am familiar with it, but never with a toddler.
Huh
I could do weird how many nights did I go out in second year university math and come close. That’s a low bar. Like the states with 25 BMI
yeah I thought it was a low bar but like MA doesn’t seem to have any bar. so
Yea, god 8 years of working in bars and strip clubs before they changed the smoking laws here, coupled with some smoking with coworkers or at karaoke occasionally…definitely >5 packs of cigarettes in me.
