Oh for fuck’s sake!
Ooh, I should add “donate blood” to my list of things to do after my second vaccination. I usually can’t donate because of traveling to areas at higher risk for malaria. But since I haven’t gone anywhere in over a year, I should give my blood while I can.
Got my stimulus deposit this morning, it will go to savings. Now if only I could get my tax refund…
Friend in ER with covid.
Oh no. Hoping they have a mild case and quickly recover.
My sister got a vaccine appointment for Friday.
The Governor of MA is going to announce when each remaining group will be eligible to get the vaccine, in about 10 mins.
April 19th for me!
Today we should hear about what group 1C, starting 3/29, actually means.
I am hoping that “overweight” is included so that Boyfriend can get vaxxed. Since his BMI puts him as overweight but not obese.
Does anyone know - this probably varies by city or state. What do you do if they ask for proof of your health condition that qualifies you, and you’re qualified because of your weight? Will it be a problem that his driver’s license lists a weight he hasn’t been at in probably 30 years? Do they weigh you right there before giving you the shot, to verify?
It seems site specific. I haven’t personally known anyone who has gone to a site where they verified anything but employment. But a clip I saw on DW news a couple weeks ago (German news but they were covering US rollout) said some sites require doctors notes to prove medical conditions. I think they were discussing FL at the time. Anyway, at most I think he would need a doctors note, but that seems incredibly rare. It seems to essentially be the honor system.
I’ve never heard of anyone being asked for proof here.
If they want proof of BMI, it seems weighing and measuring you is the most likely case. I don’t think anyone weighs what their DL says. (I’ve never lived in a state that put weight on a DL. Though my state “collects the data” when you apply.)
Yes, from what I am hearing on the vaccine hunters FB group, it varies wildly by location and even by who’s working that day. Some people have had to show, like, their mychart or a prescription proving they have a condition. I hadn’t seen anything about how they are verifying weight though.
Neither of us currently have a PCP which is turning out to be problematic.
Florida is requiring a specific form that has to be filled out by your doctor. Florida is also a hot mess express so don’t look to us for any sort of guidance.
Ah I figured out my husband just barely meets the BMI requirements and there are appointments available. He’s sad because “he’s fat” but he can get the vaccine!
I’m really happy to see that grocery workers (among other people) are eligible next week. They’ve been out there in the public this whole time with no way of isolating themselves.
They’re only just now eligible? That sucks. Ours were eligible as soon as they were past healthcare workers and nursing home residents.
Our restaurant workers are still not eligible though, which I think is worrisome since they have to be around unmasked people all the time. Hopefully in this next phase they’ll be up.
Voted in a local election yesterday (county wanted permission to tax everything, including groceries, at an additional 1% so they could build a new football stadium at the high school - it’ll pass because people are idiots). No masks on poll workers, not even the one still undergoing chemo.
Like, masks were not allowed? Or they just didn’t wear them?
Why would someone undergoing chemo choose to expose themselves to that?!
I assume they chose not to.
Likely her preacher told her wearing a mask would mean she doesn’t trust God to protect her or something along those lines, but I didn’t ask. Could also be the whole virus-is-a-liberal-hoax thing, but there have been so many deaths here that that seems less likely than it was in the summer and early fall. I only know about the chemo because she was discussing with other poll workers when I went in (I was the only voter).
