Blink if this tree looks familiar!

MvR got these photos yesterday evening from our porch. Dead tree up the hill (“mountain”) across the street from us gets a lot of activity. She said the sound was incredible, echoing in the valley!

Well, I have downloaded eBird and Merlin and just did my first ever intentional birding walk with the public library. This is going to take over my life isn’t it. Didn’t see anything rare but feels so Official now that I’m tracking! I gotta get some binoculars. Any suggestions?

Depending on budget!! MvR got me Vortex 10x42 for my birthday and I love them!

Let’s say a pair a toddler could drop/throw and I wouldn’t be sad about it lol. Wanna make sure this becomes a legit hobby before I invest

Hmm I paid like $30-40 back… well, we’ll just say “back.” But they are ~$75 now. Bushnell 8 x 32. Certainly good for birding.

This sounds like a Buy Nothing request to me. Any binocs you can carry are better than no binocs.

I will note that the shadowy one’s backpack ate our binoculars, so we only have a monocular at the moment. still better than nothing
