Big Sale Holidays

I have also known it to be a big sale weekend for grills, patio furniture, and anything you could give a Dad as a gift, since it’s usually close-ish to Father’s Day.

This. I need a new drill because mine won’t hold a charge, and I was waiting for these sales. Why make a big purchase if you know a sale might knock the price down significantly in a few months?

Oh I just got a new drill. My DeWalt was over 10 years old and the 2 batteries it came with were close to shot. Since I have several other 20V XR tools/batteries, I got the DCD800 w/ 2 more batteries. Not cheap, of course. Was on Amazon for $164 but (well-rated) 3rd party. But… they sent only one of the two batteries so I had to do a return. The next kit they sent me had the complete contents! Anyway, hope you find a good deal on a drill!

It’s really handy! I could knit and read and use our windowless bathroom.

They are so handy! I haven’t been able to find mine since we move and I am fighting the urge to just buy another one instead of deeply searching the still packed boxes for it.

I have planned spending. Pool for the backyard, maybe a shade thing, and a new phone because of planned obsolescence bullshit.

I have a list of things that I’m stubbornly waiting until Black Friday to buy, but if they give me a special offer this weekend I’ll purchase!

I 60% need a new mattress, so I’m perusing. It seems like mattresses (along with everything else) is SO EXPENSIVE these days, and I haven’t made it out to test things yet.

Ugh I know they’re like a rent payment now. I don’t remember quite that much sticker shock the last time I bought one…in 2014…

I bought one of the in a box memory foam mattresses, and it doesn’t feel like it was that long ago, but the foam has softened up enough that it’s Not Great anymore. (I also need a new pillow uuuuuugh)

I was in the new pillow boat not too long ago when my washing machine ate one (rude!). I coped in the immediate by getting one from Target. I still have the one from Target. It’s not bad for the price!!

Sale emails go in a separate inbox in my personal email so I just Don’t Look :face_with_peeking_eye: What gets me on sale weekends is usually IG ads :grimacing: For clothes…

Clothes have been easier to avoid since starting IVF, and expecting lots of Size Change. (not 100% easier… but easier)

Travel esp camping is also good for avoidance… (can’t shop if you don’t have signal! Or are hanging with family/friends! )

Also spending a long weekend decluttering or organizing deep storage makes you Hate Stuff  also good inoculation for sales.

Oh I forgot, I will totally peruse the ads/sales if I am looking for something, including gifts. So like, no judgment.

Thanks for the reminder! I need to look at our storm season supplies and see if there’s anything that needs replenishing or if we want to add in anything new. I’m liking the sound of those around the neck lights.

Also considering a whole house natural gas generator or a solar powered one, but that requires more research.

We’ve got the disaster prep tax holiday starting next week so it will be good to run numbers on whether tax free would save us more than memorial day sales.

Memorial Day is a big deal sales week/end for me because it means biggest REI sale of the year, lol. We always buy stuff for the coming seasons camping, fine tuning our kit, replacing worn outdoor gear, etc.

Agree with @Gdogg. IVF and endo suck but less so.

Oh yay, thanks for the reminder that there was a packing cube that I wanted to buy from REI, saved me $6!
