Abortion Resources Thread

People that live in Oregon and Washington and are interested in helping support the camping logistics for any camping trips to Oregon. Homestays, childcare, rides, meals, aftercare kits.

Also a need for fluent spanish speakers for the hotline.

My personal fave/local Chicago-based grassroots org:

As a practical abortion fund, MAC helps people traveling to, from, and within the Midwest access a safe, legal abortion with support in the following areas: travel coordination and costs, lodging, food, medicine, and emotional support.

PSA, donā€™t forget about company matched donations like I did. This is probably highly company specific but my (flamingly liberal) large corporation matches donations. I just checked and the New Orleans Abortion Fund is on the companyā€™s list of charities. (We have to submit charities for approval before the company will match; Iā€™m pretty sure I know who added this one.)

I wish Iā€™d remembered this before donating, but Iā€™ll send the next donation thru the portal so it gets matched.

This podcast does a good job of breaking down the legal theories that the Justices used in the the decision, concurrences, and dissent. It also talks about what this decisions means for other rights going forward.

Towards the end this briefly talks about state ballot measures and constitutional amendments that will be voted on later this year or are in progress.

This is a map that shows the legal status of abortion in each state at the moment. Click on the state to read more about its policies and statistics about clinic access.

Here are some articles regarding employers offering travel funds for employees who need abortions and other considerations

Hope these help!
