I live with a person who votes libertarian pretty often.
He’ll vote for a major party candidate but not if there’s something they support that’s a deal-breaker for him.
I think of it like if one major party was pro puppy kicking and the other was pro kitten kicking. In general I like cats more than dogs, so I could consider that. Or I could calculate how many animals of each species there were to try to minimize the number of animals being kicked. But when it came down to it, could I bring myself to vote for either one? Even though my vote wouldn’t “count” I could see myself voting for a third party with the “don’t kick anything” platform, just to be able to live with myself.
It can be frustrating because our deal-breakers are very different, but his are as valid to him as mine are to me.
Georgia secretary of state is saying there will be a recount, according to the Tribune.
I’m getting confused though now - if Biden gets AZ, NV, and PA, then this is moot, right?
And it makes it so that at the next election you can have a good idea of whether the state flipped, how much the percentages changed by from the last election, etc.
Here are some headlines, three days after election day. What a rollercoaster we are on my friends!
But I feel the happiest I have in a few days, because it’s starting to look like a done deal. I never thought I’d see that Biden takes the lead in Georgia headline. GEORGIA!!! Has Georgia ever gone Democrat? Ever in our lifetime?
eta: I’m gonna google that!
Ok, yes. But it’s been a while. I was certainly alive in 1992, it was the first presidential election I voted in. And it was our southerner Clinton who took it that year. I remember that year well, actually. A lot of Democrats were elected that year, no one had ever heard of Monica Lewinsky, and I was quite happy with all the results. I was also 20, in college, totally hot , living in a super fun city and having a great time. Can I be 20 again please?
