Pennsylvania has tipped to Biden.
Wow Trump is going to lose it. Now ballots are magically turning blue in GA and PA where he had a higher lead? Lol
How come NV is still at 84% votes counted? I need to watch some of those TikTok videos Frecks was talking about. Maybe they counting the sand in the desert too or measuring the deepth of some of those canyons.
I’m trying to figure out how NV got to 75 in the first day ish and then only managed to count 10% more over the next 2 days. You need help Nevada?
Today is the first day that I have let myself have the hope that Biden will actually win. For the past 4 years I have just accepted that we were probably in for another Trump term. It’s nice to feel hopeful!
Instead of releasing numbers every 30 minutes / hour / etc they have only released counts once since election night (from what I’ve seen at least). Maybe they are doing what some of those Pennsylvania counties are doing and only separating the mailed in ballots but not actually opening and counting them?
Quick reminder that many states have never had to deal with such a high number of mail-in ballots before. My state has been doing it for ages, but for many this is a first time process.
Ben Brainard’s “Welcome to the Table” YouTube series has Nevada counting reeeeeaaaaaalllllllyyyyyy sllllloooooooowwwwwwllllly.
(I like his series. It’s a little less polished than some, but the states are sooooooo stereotypically perfect. Like, dunking on literally everyone. (Maybe not quite as harsh as dunking, but then, I’m not that sensitive to stereotypes tied to the state I live in or am from?))
(Oh, and I think everything they talk about actually has happened. This is especially important to know about Florida and Louisiana.)
(Also if you want a distraction just binge them from the beginning, that will give you probably a good hour’s distraction, and the relationships between the states makes more sense.)
(Also also these comments are just in general, not directed specifically at you @Greyweld)
You guys, how likely is it that the electors in the battleground states are going to vote Trump regardless of the election’s outcome - as a friend is saying on facebook will happen?
.558% with no real chance of effecting outcome based on faithless elector laws. It’s hype.
I hope so. I’ve seen things talking about how Trump is going to threaten and intimidate electors, which, y’know, wouldn’t be out of character for him. Let’s hope that if that happens they all flip him giant double birds and do what they are supposed to do.
This whole system is dumb, let’s burn it to the ground.
It might have been a concern if biden were only going to get 270, but it looks good in GA and PA is almost a certainty now. It helps to remember that this isn’t a race but rather that this is always what happened, it’s just taking forever to count anything.
Biden is very likely to have 280+ votes, and even if some intimidation could occur, getting to even just 3 is difficult with it becoming vanishingly small by the time we hit 7 much less the 11 needed.
But I’m all in favor of burning all of it down and becoming dictator for life… er… yeah.
@Economista @Illathrael ah, that makes sense. I would be overwhelmed too if I got a ton of mail all at once and had people constantly asking “how much of it have you read??”
This is what I tell my libertarian neighbor.
Sure, every year you vote for the presidential candidate.
But what have you done to support the party at the local level? The state level? Into the house/senate? Elected positions like sheriff, or even coroner?
If we can’t even get a libertarian in a state legislature, is it really appropriate to think one should be president?
They are 50th in math education, okay?
All jokes aside, reports I’ve heard say that basicay every single ballot is being challenged by the poll watchers which means they have to be individually investigated and cleared.
Yay! That seems smart. All I know about Nevada is maybe you don’t say it like I think you do, and Las Vegas exists
Everyone right now:
new numbers in from NV, looks like Biden us up now about 22k there
Well, we are roughly at the stage of the Roman Republic when Marius and Sulla were duking it out, so our Caesar to be might not be too far off…shudders.
I also know people who vote libertarian just because they want to choose a third option/party. These individuals often know nothing about the specific candidates that they have voted for.
