A US Election Thread Where We Will Be Nice to One Another (but not to seditionists)

AND the doctor implies he was diagnosed mid-day on Wednesday, before he attended another three events and knowingly exposed everyone at them.

Or maybe not. Now they’re “clarifying” that.

Ugh.

They wouldn’t have given him a dose of that drug I can’t remember the name of on Thursday just for funsies. I think he must have known on Wednesday.

I read this and the follow up article, I’d be really interested in a third article from his parents’ perspective of if they could do something different or if they lived in the U.S. today what would they do.

Yeah, I don’t think the medical staff are in the habit of being permitted to give the POTUS experimental drug combinations without good cause.

I figure if he only got a super light case (or that drug worked a miracle) they had no intention of even saying that he was sick so we would never know. It’s only because he got worse on Thursday night that he admitted to it.

From a verifiable source in the white house, they gave him supplemental oxygen on Friday night in order to walk to marine 5 and he was given the option to go to Walter Reed then, when he could walk, rather than later, when possibly he would have to be wheeled or stretchered out.

Always a man of optics, he chose to go when he could maintain the image of strength.

He is now on remdesivir which is a 5-10 day course so the unknowns will keep happening.

He looked very pale in this video and raspy from the hospital, but he was able to make it (though unclear when). It does appear to be edited.

Reminder that concealing or obfuscated the health of a leader is a common thing in authoritarian regimes…

It’s his chief of staff Mark Meadows who’s “leaking” this info. Is he gonna have a job after this?

Lol @ job security for anyone in his administration at any time, for any reason

I would like to report that the proud boys heard Trump’s call and they are proudly showing their sexy rainbow selves all over that hashtag on twitter. So many gay guys. So many rainbows. :rainbow:
Dog bless George Takei.

I saw a post about that and was really confused until I clicked on the hashtag. Glorious!

Looks like Trump just left the hospital. Also, there’s a video playing that he recently made and he looks and sounds good.

ETA: apparently he just went for a quick trip around the block to see his supporters but is back at the hospital. Seems like he just wanted to be in charge as usual, and thought a photo op would be a good idea.

I personally am a fan of the staged photos taken 10 minutes apart of him signing his name on blank paper with a sharpie.

He just wanted to further expose the Secret Service by making them drive him around for political theater. He got a bunch of steroids and it’s making him go really fast. Bet he doesn’t sleep a wink tonight.

The blank piece of paper was amazing. I laughed so fucking hard.

Then I made a little whimper noise, and closed the web browser. But let’s concentrate on the laughing.

It was the sharpie that did it for me.

I see that @LadyDuck has already posted about this, but the gaywads trolling the Pr*ud Boys is delightful.

This one in particular:

He always signs with sharpies, doesn’t he? A mere pen is certainly not visible enough for him.

So…here’s what you missed on glee:

  1. President Trump is apparently leaving the hospital today
  2. His medical team is still being incredibly cagey about his lung scans and his last negative test (which would help with contact tracing)
  3. The # of white house staffers, members of the press pool, and repub senators testing positive is too high to even keep count at this point. Press secretary today
  4. The president intends to debate on Oct 15th
  5. The President, who is receiving state-of-the-art care and experimental medication not available to most Americans, tweeted: “Don’t be afraid of Covid. Don’t let it dominate your life. We have developed, under the Trump Administration, some really great drugs & knowledge. I feel better than I did 20 years ago!”

Meanwhile, he medical team and COS say that he is “not out of the woods yet”.

The lung steroid he is receiving (dexamethasone) is meant for very severe cases of covid (patients that require a ventilator or supplemental oxygen) and its use has long-lasting effects in most patients. This will require a lot of monitoring.
