Both Joe and Jill Biden have tested negative. Given that we’re less than three days from the debate I’m not sure if Covid would show up this soon if they had been exposed and infected so I want to see more negative tests over the coming week to be sure.

I know my work requires negative tests at the 5th and 9th day post exposure before you are released to come back.

I am actually really worried about trump dying from this (given his health/age) - I don’t know if our current fragile democracy can handle the death of a president right before an election (especially given that death from the virus happens usually about 26 days after hospitalization, which would be pretty much election day).
Not really spiraling out about this (I know we have a constitution but that sh*t is fragile right now) but definitely…concerned.

I just heard a clip of him at his rally on Thursday. He didn’t sound like himself to me.
NPR reported that he’d been moved to Walter Reed out of an ‘abundance of caution.’ But I’m also betting he has to be pretty sick to be moved right now.
NPR had a story this morning on various possible election outcomes. Their guest conceded there weren’t necessarily good contingent plans for this scenario. He did point out that we actually elect electors, not the people who are actually on the ticket. So it could also come down to decisions by the electors.
If Biden wins and Trump dies - I’m not sure if it’s still an issue?
Or if Trump wins, it would be Pence inaugurated?
And it’s not too late for Biden to test positive after Tuesday night, I’ll be watching his test results for the next week plus.
But it is indeed a surreal twist in what has been a surreal year.
ETA: He has not tweeted since the announcement yesterday. The longer his Twitter thread is quiet, the more seriously ill I will think he is.

I would. Especially since I don’t think you’re voting for Trump. 
If this does not affect the election you still want to get it in early and meet any deadlines. If it does affect the election, they won’t be using the same ballots that are in the mail now.

Yes, which has me thinking about donating some more money to the people getting folks registered to vote. It is too risky that this might increase support for him.

This is incredibly terrible timing. Much as it might go against the natural instincts, a light infection, a quick recover, and a crushing defeat is the best case scenario.
There are so many ways this can be spun towards a delayed or disputed election.
