2020 BINGO -- A choose-your-own-goals challenge

I’d never considered having a time goal for crow pose until I read your bingo card back when you first made it. It’s not an explicit goal for me, but now I have been counting while I practice it. 14 seconds yesterday. One minute seems both impossible and achievable.

Update which isn’t looking that different to last month, and its getting clear that Covid will stop me doing a few of them so I should do a change, but I am not too sure what to make my new goals.

Totally agree, I don’t really know where I came up with 1 min. It seemed like something I could probably do but would need to work at a lot. I know that I’ve been to a yoga class and seen other people hold the pose the whole time everyone else was working on getting into position and holding and falling and getting back. So I know it can be done. I think I’ve gotten up to 20 secs or so.

Paid off another Student Loan yesterday! Only 5 more of those to go, but for this threads purposes I can cross of another block. If the Half-marathon happens in September I should be able to get BINGO on that 2nd from the top row as we have a weekend trip to NH planned for September and one of the days we will be hiking a 4k footer (maybe 2)

Oh and just realized I will also get column N crossed off after that Hike in September. So 2 possible BINGOs in one month.

July update: making good progress!

except on the “Save additional $3000 for emergency fund”…I had added money to my savings fund, and then raided it to pay down credit card debt :grimacing: On the plus side, I’ve paid down my credit card that had the highest balance and the highest interest rate, woot woot

Fell asleep early last night and didn’t put in the July update…managed to not kill all my plants, and then donations are technically done (although they’re not, but I left the denominator the original plan). Basically nothing in the ‘needs to get happen’ column has actually gotten done, though, so I should probably get on that.

In July I did a few things specifically so I could check them off:

  • I took a SUP lesson
  • I signed up for and completed a trail workday
  • I camped. I’ve got two more trips planned for August and a third in the planning stages.
  • I volunteered at the shelter. I have completed 30 hours. I have stepped back as a volunteer due to rising Covid cases here.
  • I ate my way through the chest freezer and it’s still empty.
  • I taught a series of outdoor yoga classes

Interestingly, some of the things I thought would be slam-dunks when I put this together, I’ve not made much progress on, like trying 4 vegetarian recipes (specifically entrees) and making mozzarella from scratch. I’d planned to start the Yoga Anatomy course in January. Since I’ve suspended indoor teaching due to Covid and am considering going in a completely different direction, I’m not sure if I will still do that or not.

It’s also become apparent (again) that I did not place things strategically to make getting a bingo easy! This was not intentional! The most likely path is after I camp a couple more times. I’m completely stopped on making money to contribute to the IRA. If I do get a job, I’m interested in part-time, temporary and safe; not even looking. A date? What’s that? Hosting a gathering at my house (outdoors) could be pretty easy and should be done soon, before it starts getting cold in the fall.

ahhhhh there are so many good prizes to choose from! Do I want an accomplishment doodle, a hand-bound notebook, an OMD prize pack, or a watercolor flower painting?!

I accomplished one more thing in July (technically earlier today, but who’s counting?) so here’s my update:

``
Finish lace scarf Finish glass display Hike 4 times Finish editing book 7 Sew a garment
Mend 3 things from mending pile Finish writing book 14 Organize clothes Make seitan Sew patches on winter coat
Make pizza 4 times Sort & store giveaway baby clothing FREE SPACE Make bread 6 times Get yarn organized and put away
Make bagels 4 times 2 days in a row with no added sugar Refill emergency fund Knit a garment Bike ride 4 times
Read 10 books I owned before 2019 See a physical therapist for feet Touch up paint in house Reach Weathertop Create a filing system

Maybe I should change the “physical therapist” one due to COVID. It just doesn’t seem worth the risk right now…

I changed any goals that were related to travel or going places, weight (because I have no scale and ED recovery is more important than weight goals), and added some tracking below goals that it applies to.

Some of the things are in the works they are just waiting on timing but all good things coming.

I have permanently reduced my environmental impact by designing a lawn to use less water, my second item is going to be air sealing our basement. If anyone has ideas for the third item that will permanently reduce our environmental impact we are all ears!! I have helped friends and family reduce theirs by hooking them up with some insulation for their attics but I’m not sure that counts.

I realized that with my most recent camping trip, that makes three and gives me a BINGO down the middle!

If we are still doing prizes, I’m most interested in the Tarot reading if that is still available.

Very late to the party here. But, I’m in. Just created my BINGO card. What a great idea! It’s really helped me focus on some goals in a fun way. Also… in 2020…? Bonus points and major kudos to anyone and everyone who’s completed a line already. Truly… (And we thought 2019 was bad eh? :stuck_out_tongue: ).

I’ve got a few squares I’ve finished on my bingo board and I can’t find my darn stickers I was using to mark them!

@JRA64 sorry I haven’t done your tarot reading yet, I meant to do it this weekend but… brain fart.

You were quite busy with your stair project. No worries! I’m enjoying following the home reno without having to do any of the work!

August update: chugging along.

Not as dramatic of a difference as some months, but still filled in two more squares, and making progress on the number of books read and on the credit card debt.
