D and I hugged and then let go. The wiggler said “mama and dada can hug,” so we hugged some more. Then he ran up and hugged our legs. Then he asked to be picked up so we could all have a group hug!

It’s been raining all day today (and last night) which almost never happens in the desert. On the sidewalk next to my house there is a big slanty part of the cement that makes a big deep puddle. When I left to buy groceries this morning there were two little kids out there with their dad splashing in the puddle, completely ecstatic…when I got back from the store 30 min later they were still there, happily splashing away . Puddles are a real novelty here!

I have a lemon tree outside my kitchen window and yesterday I saw a cardinal chirping in it.
When I was growing up I though cardinals were neat but lived on the very edge of their range so I only saw them maybe once or twice a year. Now I see them semi-regularly and it always makes me happy.

100% positive cute anecdote:
My best friends eight year old son has recently gotten really into “spooky things” like Ouija Boards, goosebumps books, etc. so he wants to have a seance.
He’s been talking about it a bunch and apparently pronounces it “Seyonce” just like Beyonce (I saw a video of it today, it’s adorable) and she has NOT corrected him. <3
