Speaking of chairs…

Any suggestions for the giants among us?

Looking at this: https://secretlab.co/collections/titan-xl-series?view=min

Because I don’t want to pay for this: https://www.buyworkchairs.com/RFM-Seating-Verte-Executive-Back-Chair-wAdjustable-Headrest-22111_p_10272.html

But Brute it’s 40% off! What a good deal! :joy:

Ha! I’m sorely tempted because I had one of those at the labs in Albuquerque. It was incredible. But I really don’t think it was worth the price tag, and without someone who knows how to set it up, it’s not much better than a normal decent chair.

Inexpensive external hard drive? I have my computer backed up to Dropbox, but I’d really like to have a non-cloud backup as well. FWIW I have a MacBook Air.

I don’t know if this is too late to be useful, but I like Seagate drives and so does the Wirecutter. They’re pretty no-nonsense, reliable, and easy to plug and play. https://www.amazon.com/Seagate-Portable-External-Hard-Drive/dp/B07CRG7BBH

  1. A pumping/nursing bra for WFH, comfy as possible, please. Sports bra style preferred and no wires allowed. I currently have the Medela strapless and it’s just too much work to put on/take off if I’m going to be pumping several times a day (currently only about 1-2x).

  2. What type of rug is extremely durable and easy to keep something less than filthy with a short-haired dog who likes wallowing in mud and scratching, and a baby? I have an indoor/outdoor polypropylene one that is pretty grody after several years. Has anyone used Ruggable rugs, where the top can go in your washing machine?

My home decor group raves about ruggable!

I loved these bralettes so much and still wear them and might buy a bunch more: https://www.amazon.com/BRAVADO-DESIGNS-Nursing-Maternity-Breastfeeding/dp/B01MY0J55S/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=ballet+nursing+bra&qid=1615858244&sprefix=ballet+nursing&sr=8-3

I love that style of bralette and have a couple! Also the Richer Poorer scoop bralette.

I’m looking for the style that also has slightly pornographic openings for pump flanges, though. (I’m back to work albeit WFH next month, and I don’t think the Elvie pump is up to the task of 3+ pump sessions a day.) Do you have any of that style that you like?

Someone in my parents group SWORE by Ollie gray and it sounds like exactly what you’re describing.

I’ve heard great things about the Kindred Bravely pump bra. I don’t have one though since I just have the crappy strapless type and pumped at home haha.

Someone I know has the ruggables and likes them - she has two giant dogs - but they don’t really fit in her washer. She has to take them to the laundromat.

Oh, that sounds exactly right! They have a 35% off final sale promo going, so I’ve ordered one and cross my fingers that I got the size correct.

I can live with that a few times a year but it’s very helpful to know upfront.

Thanks friends, you work fast.

SanDisk/WesternDigital is also really good (they are the same company now, I think). I have 2 external drives, one is a WD HDD similar to that and one is a SanDisk with a SSD.

SanDisk Passport:

https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-500GB-Extreme-Portable-External/dp/B078SWJ3CF/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=sandisk+external+ssd+500gb&qid=1615895519&s=electronics&sr=1-3

WD similar (mine is a My Passport Ultra), a little older and they don’t make the exact model any more):

HDD are cheaper for the amount of storage, SSD are “fancier” in that SSD are more stable and smaller (no moving parts, great if you are moving it a lot and fast). External drives are tiny nowadays and don’t need external power except via USB, which is also great. My SanDisk is literally the footprint of a credit card and maybe 1/4" thick (it is seriously tiny). The WD is 4.5x3.5x1".

I don’t know if they qualify as “cheap”… I would rather pay a little more for a reliable brand that I won’t have to replace soon than try to skimp and risk losing my data. (I have this conversation every time I have to buy storage, ultimately the “known” brands always win out, and SSD won out the last time.) If price is sensitive chose HDD over SSD. Also consider how much space you really need and buy accordingly (but sometimes double the storage is only a little bit more).

It’s not too late at all! Thank you!

So like… if you’re playing football with it? If you’re keeping it in a car? I have difficulty imagining why I would worry about my external hard drive moving around  Thanks for the overview of the different options!

In my personal experience: Dog knocks it off a table. Child takes it and runs

I meant, SSD are fast, and also good if you move them around because there are no moving parts.

But I am quite clumsy and drop things all the time as well… So basically, a good option if there is the possibility of gets jostled or dropped!

Ohhh, “and fast” referred to the drive, not the movement

I guess I should go for an SSD then, because at the very least I would be taking it out of a drawer and putting it back in regularly.

Can you help me find something delicious I can add to my water to make it taste good, so I can kick the Diet soda addiction.

Prefer low sugar (if not sugar free), no sucralose.
