Your Groceries May Be More than Your Neighbor, Buying the Same Things at the Same Stores!

I’m not surprised, but I am shocked. This makes me glad that we don’t do “grocery pickups” but also made me determined to stop using my store apps, unless I"m going to get a lot (cash off) out of it.

FWIW this is the original article on this finding:

Fwiw our Kroger store does not do variable pricing for grocery pick ups, it’s exactly what you would pay in store. Which is very easy to check because they publish their weekly sales flyers and everything. I find the drive up to be very convenient, and it’s free for more than $35 worth of groceries. Which at this point is like one thing of milk, some bread, some eggs, and a single potato. :joy::sob:

Yeah, except when we had COVID, we’ve never used any of the delivery services. Also, I rarely use their shopping services, instacart or whatever. I’m willing to buy salvage produce, try a different, cheaper brand, figure the $/pound for mulitple packages, etc. NONE of that works with a shopping service.

The article did make me more determined that ever to NOT tie my purchases to my frequent shopper accounts as much as I had. I don’t need to give them more data than I do. I have always just put it in without thinking about it very much… The article made me rethink that.

Do you buy groceries in cash? Because otherwise they’re probably tying it to you via credit card  not much is totally anonymous these days

They can do wild things by habits too.
