My starting words
This is the best combination I’ve been able to come up with, nineteen independent letters in four words. But I can confirm it’s not usually the shortest or fastest path to the answer:
YEARS
FIGHT
POUND
CLIMB
I’m doing the wordle on my computer and there’s a picture of a keyboard under the puzzle which clearly shows eliminated, confirmed and remaining letters in the appropriate colors, so I don’t have to manually track letters. It would be harder on a phone.
It shows the eliminated/confirmed/remaining letters on a tiny keyboard on my phone too.

Summary
Honestly I feel like I lucked out with my first guess having a green letter. Otherwise I don’t think I would have been able to guess the word.
Strategy q for y’all: when do you decide to start guessing words instead of trying to get more information?

Depends on how well things are going! Usually by the second or third guess I’m making guesses. But today I used 4 elimination attempts!! But I had a 3 letters after 2 guesses; probably should’ve started guessing.

I actually like playing on “hard mode” when you have to use confirmed letters from past guesses but today I didn’t for some reason. I try to combine the strategies by using the most unique letters in the next guess possible while still using the letters I know are in the word.

today's answer, don't look!!
- Today I started with AdieU
- Then I wasted a guess on Block for some reason which I wouldn’t normally do
- Next was tUbAS which moved the vowels into one of the common A/U patterns and added more common letters to confirm/eliminate. The other option was trying to find a five letter word with au (“taut”?) but I couldn’t think of any easily and both options would give me the same info (were the vowels separate or together)
- Once I knew there was an S either starting or in the middle i started looking for words that would put it in front and use other common letters. Sugar would confirm/deny R and the final position of the s which I thought was valuable enough information for a guess and it ended up being right.

Guess #3 was ciGAR… despite the S sound at the beginning of that word it still took me too long to make the leap to the correct word!

I find it hard to move my brain away from a pronunciation. Once I realized it must end in AR, I had a hard time not putting the emphasis on that syllable.
