Who got their FLU SHOT?

Flu shots acquired for the whole family! The wiggler did great–he was too interested in the numbers on the scale to even react to the shot.

Whole family worth of badges please. I can report that I was bravest and that the littlest is still having emotions about the shot

Baby got her first one today! She cried hard but short, and appointment made for the booster next month.

You deserve more badges than I do, because I haven’t booked the follow up. And it’ll be near Christmas and therefore a logistical nightmare

You all get badges as soon as I get around to giving them.

Got my flu shot yesterday! Also signed up for the shingles vaccine (needs to be 2 weeks later).

I need to get the shingles vaccine. Going to wait until after I have a Covid vaccine, though. No masking at my doctor’s office.

Spouse is in Tier 1c (aka third tier), I won’t be in any tier higher than that. I don’t expect to see a COVID vaccine any time soon.

I don’t have to go to a doctor’s office to get the shingles vaccine, I can get it at a grocer’s pharmacy (which is where I got the flu shot). Masks worn by all (and use hand sanitizer before going into the room, don’t face the person doing injections, etc.).

Still far too many covid cases here, still seeing holiday / winter / fatigue fallout.

Sounds like a solid plan to me.

We did the maskless doctor’s office for flu shots because that was so important. And they did it curbside. I guess we could probably do the shingles one safely enough in our respirators too, but I think we’re may be tier 1b anyway because of being college faculty.

Spouse is college faculty - but it’s private school (in a different state than you).

A state that has a plan, unlike mine…

Oh, I wouldn’t assume there is a plan here, other than Trump supporters will probably get some early access.

We will have to see what happens. It will take awhile to get the first tier all of their shots.

Baby got her flu booster today! She was mad, but since it was only one shot and not three this time, she calmed down quickly.

I forgot to report that I got mine! It’s been a while. But I still haven’t managed to get the rest of my family in to do it, sigh.

The kids have autonomy to get shots or not? My parents just took me (no flu vaccine when I was a kid - so who knows in “optional” vaccines)

No, it’s more just the pandemic. They officially have to get them and don’t have a choice about it, we just haven’t done it. We used to end up at Kaiser periodically with regular doctor appointments or usual kids-sometimes-hurt-themselves or get sick things, so we’d get them done as we were there. But now we don’t go anywhere and doctor appointments have been over video so we just haven’t made it in. I have to have regular labs so I made it in, but no one else has.

Oh. Here a lot of flu vaccines are done at pharmacies, including those at grocery stores. Earlier on they were also doing drive-thru vaccines. So I have very easy access to common vaccines. In fact, tomorrow I get my first dose of shingles vaccine at the pharmacy in a grocery store.

I think that happens here, too. But Kaiser is like… all in one? You go to the doctor there, your get your prescriptions there, they have the lab you go to for bloodwork, they have the x-ray machine, blah blah blah. It goes on and and on. Maybe you can get your shot at a non-Kaiser pharmacy when you have Kaiser insurance. I don’t know! I’m just used to having them do everything because they do everything.

I just got my flu shot (kindly done by the nurse on site at work), I am a fair way down the list to be getting my Covid vaccine here in Australia, but at least I got vaccinated for something
