" “I want to stress that this isn’t an isolated incident,” Brignell said.

She recalled the recently reported case of Daryl Tavernor, a wheelchair user who was left on a flight for two hours at Manchester airport and eventually had to call the police in order to be assisted out of the plane.

Brignell had received support from House of Lords peer Lady Tanni Grey-Thompson, who told Good Morning Britain that she was recently forced to crawl off a plane when she was not assisted in disembarking."

I wish more people knew about this and also the amount of wheelchairs that are broken by airlines every single year, and no, they do not replace them or provide a temporary replacement to the person. I think it’s also notable that she says she wants to stress that this is not isolated. I think when horrible things happen to disabled people usually the response is shock and horror but also, “well that doctor is a jerk!” or “well I’d like to have word with that volunteer” or “that’s shocking, I would never xyz” or whatever, as if it’s a completely unforeseen one off. It really undermines the point of sharing these types of things IMO, because it’s not actually shocking…it’s de riguere.

Today I learned that pistachios in the shell can have worms in them. The can be so small that it’s often hard to tell when you are eating them. Apparently the same is true for almonds in the shell? Thank you internet for ruining one of my favorite snacks

Eewwww!

The logical part of my brain says “extra protein”, and “most humans eat insects”. But the rest of me sticks with my original reaction.

We also have to practice with the adult sled on each other, going down multiple flights of stairs lol

ETA we don’t practice with real babies. But we have enough staff with babies we SHOULD haha
