Kiddo loved Les Mis. Tomorrow he’s off to his first day of high school, taking the city bus by himself and everything. He is fantastic and that is my tiny victory.

My tony victor is related! I sent Mr. Meer a link to an article about investing and he had his own thoughts about it that he shared with me instead of just deferring to whatever I think is a good idea since I “like doing that kind of stuff”. (I sort of like doing it? But really it’s because household finances are my chore and I started trying to maximize our savings and investments a few years ago because doing that is easier than working forever.)

I sent an email to all of my clients announcing a 2020 rate increase for all my current clients and an immediate rate increase for new clients. I am also doing holiday rates this year at a 25% increase. I’ve never done this before, I’ve just done more work for the same amount of money… 
* Because I felt like it was somehow immoral.
But hey, the email has SENT!

Thank you! It’s nerve-racking but I actually received a few texts today congratulating me and saying “finally!” - Plus one of my former clients who moved to Nashville was apparently still on the list and wrote me an email saying that their new dog walker is “fine enough”, but they miss me 
No one has located my home on GPS, driven here, and directly punched me in the face or slashed my tires.

I’m experimenting with reaching out to friends I love and see rarely, and pushing back on more socially pushy friends who I see too often. The result? A 14 hour playdate that has left me feeling emotionally and mentally full and charged. This is a win on so many levels!

My friend is cleaning my rental house and is awesome. For her dinner break she and I went to the Indian buffet while my kids babysat her kid.
This afternoon my other friend dropped by for half an hour, out of the blue.
A third friend and I have been texting back and forth all day, planning to go to a play together.
I only have four friends so this is a lot, in a good way. Today I had more interaction with my local friends than I usually do in a week.
