The first day the painters were here, I heard the foreman talking to ? up on a ladder. It ended up we had a bat living in a tiny piece of the attic that was accessible from outside. The hole got patched and painted. We bought a bat house.
Yesterday, the painters finished up, including mounting the bat house we’d purchased and painted. Also we got our new security/motion sensor light in…
and a bat set it off last night. YAY!!!

That’s great! I was working at a guest ranch long ago and needed a dresser. They brought me one, with paper I didn’t like it in. I pulled it out, thinking I’d replace it with something I liked and found $120 in cash!

The metro line I take to work only has A/C on like a third of the trains, randomly, and the others are very unpleasantly hot but I have had an incredible string of luck recently catching almost all trains with A/C

High school workshops held, lots of teenagers introduced to breadboarding and circuit design, all of them actively engaged/interested/completed the project. This is usually a pretty popular workshop, but I think this is the first time everyone either got started on the extra project or took it home to try which is nice to see.
(Although I will say we had one of the weirder parents show up to escort their kid this year. A couple students who need assistance one way or another is pretty typical, and usually we just grab extra chairs and maybe add some delays in the intro presentation if someone needs a translation, but this year we had a kid who was very into the project and happy to talk to the volunteers and ask questions with a parent who sat there scowling and muttering about it being too complicated and confusing and how we needed to revamp the whole thing. Like, lady…it’s not for you, and the person it is for is doing just fine, so maybe go get some water or something.)

I was trying to use a $2 coupon at a local coffee chain I used to frequent before they closed the location closest to my work, and a recent app update had the payment glitching. Instead of troubleshooting and waiting for me to add a new credit card, she just gave me the drink for free.
