On that same note, I was just coming here to say my boss brought in a Harry Potter cake.
I love it! Dovetailing tony victors!
Well that rules out Tony. And Victor.
Can one even say that someone has been properly christened if none of their names are Tony or Victor?
My parents moved a couple of years ago to a small neighborhood of ~14 houses. Dad has made friends with exactly two neighbors. No lie, their names are Tony and Victor.
I went to school with someone with the last name Victor - they could have had kids named Tony/Toni Victor!
I love the occasional revivals of the Tony Victor joys of misspelling joke. Love.
My Tony Victor (Tiny Victory) is that I am taking the information from the estimate via the chimney repair company and doing two of the repairs myself for approximately 55% of the cost (Plus the emotional turmoil of being on the roof, but I will be ok…).
Ewok has slept through the night two nights in a row.
I made a banging dinner (thin cornbread with just enough crisp and just enough crumb, plus steamed green beans topped with pancetta fried with garlic, and two sliced kiwis for dessert).
Also, I realized that this thread and the Tiny Complaints thread are everything I actually ever wanted out of Twitter, with added bonus of being awesome instead of a cesspit.
A very relaxing swim with a lane to myself this morning (its cold and the pool is outdoors so fewer swimmers today), now a coffee and a Cat’s Guide to Money.
Yesterday I read a book in just one day for the first time in forever (really, reading a book at all and staying actively engaged is a tony victor). I imagine lots of others on the forum would be interested in it as well
I also have “On the Clock: What Low-Wage Work Did to Me and How It Drives America Insane.” by Emily Gundelsberger on my to-read list.
Oh wow, I’ll have to see if my library has that. I’ve read Nickel & Dimed by Barbara Ehrenreich and found it emotionally fatiguing at the time I read it, but I do like to stay in touch with these topics.
I just dowloaded a new book on my Libby app (Fantasy land: How america went haywire by Kurt Andersen, good so far) but I’ll see if they have the book you mentioned to put on hold.
It’s quite a victory to stay engaged and really really read a book in one day, I agree - great job! Victor!
I’m really happy with my bank. I had a problem this morning and they’ve been 100% on top of it and even waived a charge that wasn’t their fault.
It’s really lovely and warm today, ahead of a cold front arriving with lovely rainy weather tomorrow.
I don’t have anemia, gestational diabetes, I haven’t been Rh sensitized, and I don’t have an STI. Lol. Good news all around =P
Made a dr’s appointment AND they have an opening tomorrow at 8am so I don’t have to take the tiny human with me! All I do is win.
Got up at 7 to finish a presentation that I was totally screwed for as of yesterday. Finished it early, then found that most people scheduled to go can’t go… So now it’s rescheduled for Tuesday and I have SO MUCH TIME to actually make it great, rather than the good I got it to by getting up early to do it.
Plus that’s like 2 extra hours I get to log for work by the end of the day. Hoping to bank up enough little bits and pieces to take a day off without using vacation sometime this month.
I booked doctor and dentist appointments for the kids. Using the phone.
I made it home last night.
I picked 2 lbs of tomatoes over the last 3 days.
IT’S ON.
