Tiny Victories

I looked into Liquid Chalk for CrossFit because I would fall off the bar from my sweaty hands! Now I have grips that I wear but I haven’t really been on a bar because of my shoulder injury. Hahaha climbing is totally not compatible with excessively sweaty hands!

Oh my gosh I have to use SO MUCH CHALK when I climb bc I am SweatMonster 2000. When my friend climbs, she just uses a solid piece of chalk to dab the tiniest amount on each fingertip and I’m over here rolling in it like WTF. I feel you - the struggle is real haha

The Denver Botanic Gardens has corpse flowers named Stinky and Lil Stinker. I don’t know why this delights me but it does haha

My desktop computer has decided to nearly die, as of its last os update. It isnt that its too old, i know that for sure.

We came up with a workaround for my current issue! the inventory for the auction person, coming tomorrow at 930 a.m.

we havent come up with a keyboard for my alternative computer, yet, so lots of typos.

but progress!

I finally found an eye mask that I can sleep in! It also covers my ears which is a nice bonus. I’ve been sleeping with a long sleeve shirt wrapped around my face for way too long :joy:

I also found a body soap that doesn’t make my skin peel/flake off when I get out of the shower. I thought my skin was just doing that, but turns out even the baby soap dr bronners is too harsh for me.

Would you mind sharing what it is? I have yet to find a mask that I didn’t rip off in 30 mins lol

Yes! I got these:

I really like that it’s a wrap vs. the kind with the thin elastic band that feels like it’s cutting into my head.

Thank you!! Yeah the thin elastic bands are the WORST - how can people stand those??

Thank you! I was thinking of posting in the Personal Shopper thread for sleep mask recommendations

What I came here to post: I dropped my phone in the bath but was able to grab it and dry it right away. That was hours ago and it’s working just fine!

I had a bunch of lab work done a few months ago, and when I got the bills I could see very clearly that I had been duplicate billed for everything. I called my physicians billing office and had a really long frustrating conversation where I was told that I was clearly wrong and that I owed the full amount. I asked for it to be reviewed by a supervisor, and that I wasn’t going to pay until I at least had it looked over again. Well I never heard back until today, and they called and told me I was correct and they made a billing error…I’m no medical billing specialist, but I do pay about $5-7k of medical bills every year and I’m pretty good at deciphering what I’m being charged for. I’m so glad that was taken care of, but also dealing with medical issues is so exhausting outside of the physical pain/limitations they cause…trying to make sure you are billed correctly is another part time job.

I’m glad they relented. Did they apologize? So frustrated on your behalf that it was necessary in the first place.

oh noooo I’ve never had a billing office apologize for a mistake, haha. But that’s ok, I’m just happy to not be paying double!

I used to work for a medical billing service bureau. Double billing from the data entry point would have been hard. After the file left my desk, i have no idea tho.

My problem with some medical bills is that they don’t send them promptly and when they do, it has to be paid NOW! I had an outpatient thing done. I decided I’d just pay it… gave them the $40 they wanted. Got sent a survey. Called to find out what if any balance I had. Getting someone to call me back took 3 phone calls and leaving a nasty message. But they did. I owed $0. Fine, I filled out the survey.

Two months later, I get a bill for $140. Thirty days after that I got a nastygram… I paid the bill but oh boy, I wish I hadn’t already sent in that survey!

Seriously?! Making a mistake is one thing, but doubling down on it is unforgivable.

Perfect sandwich for work lunch today: homemade (by me, 36 hour fridge rest made it beautifully tender) sourdough, chunky peanut butter, very small amount of homemade (by D) strawberry jam.

Two things. I had an awesome day climbing and in the gym AND DH and I worked through something really big and found an awesome and innovative solution that is working soooo well for both of us! ALSO I BOUGHT PRODUCE DOWNTOWN AND CARRIED IT HOME ON THE TRAIN. I haven’t been able to do that in about 7 years. :muscle:
