I had a successful and dare I say pleasant interaction with the water company here, although they are notoriously awful. Got my account setup issue resolved AND the late fee waived since I incurred it by not receiving a paper bill OR being able to access my bill online. Hooray!

I went to buy bagels today and for the first time it occurred to me to ask if they could slice them for me. And they did! So now my bagels are all evenly sliced (better than I would have done) and I can pop them straight into the freezer.

I did a thing I’ve been putting off!
I am really overdue for an eye exam and my eyes have gotten noticeably worse in the last year or so. But I didn’t like the last optometrist I saw (I felt like she rushed me) and the person I saw before that who I really liked wasn’t there anymore. Unfortunately I didn’t remember her name.
I called the place I’d been most recently and asked for the doctor’s name that I had seen in 2016, and they gave it to me with no problems. I found out where she works now and made an appointment with her for next week!

For our 20th? 15th? anniversary, I had DH’s ring engraved with the date we became roommates…
It was a while ago, our 42nd is this week. Funny, we laugh at ourselves, we can never remember the date. Sometime between the 12th and 17th… we celebrate on the 15th, but that is NOT our anniversary, it’s just a date we both remember.
So, my 42nd “anniversary” is tomorrow.
Periodically we look at each other and say, “How’d we do that?” and the answers we come up with almost always start with … too stubborn to quit.

I found the missing piece of furniture I wanted to put at the end of the new “hall” upstairs. I found it this afternoon, when I was looking for my old toy chest. It’s a classic, Shaker looking thing which needs to be throughly cleaned and rehabbed, but I decided I’d use the toy chest as a blanket chest for us. The down comforter, etc. which had been pulled off the bed was just sitting on the floor at the end of the “hall.” So, I decided to put the toy chest next to the bed, with the extra bedding in it.
To the plus side: found the missing piece of furniture I wanted for the end of the hall. Packed up the blankets which need to be washed. Went thru 2 boxes of books.
On the minus side: I need to move things around at the end of the “hall” and get the piece of furniture up here with the typewriter I’d always intended to put on it and the book press I’d always intended to put UNDER it. Doing this will remove 3 pieces from the downstairs floor and put them where I expected them to go until we move out of here.
And, I don’t know where the toy chest is…
The stand is upstairs and the typewriter is on it. Yeah!

Yesterday I climbed the hardest grade route I’ve climbed so far! I failed it last week and got it on my first try this week. AND I found out my arms are now officially too big for the size I usually wear in a brand of workout apparel!!! Like the arm holes were digging into me and I had to exchange for a bigger size! This is such huge awesome news because it is very hard for me to build upper body strength (my paraclimbing category is literally called RP2 for reduced power) and I think I’m actually doing it!!!
Also I told @brute and obviously he is v jealous so I will be giving him some pointers. Don’t worry buddy, you’ll get there. You’ll get there.
