After five winters with too low humidity in my flat (high insulation and heated floor as only heating source) I gave in and bought a humidifier.
It is so nice to sit here without constantly clearing my throat. (and I used a good offer and paid only 100€)

Resold a bookshelf that wasn’t working out for us, for the same amount we bought it for. yay for FB marketplace. That’s one of my favorite things about the used market- less risk if something doesn’t work out, you just pass it along for the same amount no worse for wear.

I would like everyone to please gaze upon this most beautiful thing I have ever made. (Why yes, it IS the very first time I’ve made bread, why do you ask?) I’ve made cinnamon rolls and dinner rolls for many years, just never a loaf of bread. And! I used my cute little dutch oven that so many here own for the first time after buying it in… April? Shhh… I think I need to fiddle with it a bit next time, but it was pretty yummy for a first try. It’s a no knead recipe that wants 18-24 hours to sit which the recipe says makes it a bit like a sourdough. I don’t love sourdough, so I might let the next one sit less and see if that changes it. All in all, I’m pretty excited. Obviously.

No knead is my go to recipe - but my loaves are rarely that’s pretty since I struggle with wrangling that loose dough into that scalding hot preheated Dutch oven.

At least 18 hours, but sometimes I put it in the fridge after that and leave it a day or two. I never really pick up any real sourdough tang. Though I do often smell alcohol even after baking (immediately after baking).
