It’s so fun! I got a real shock the first time I heard it - it’s quite loud
I don’t have my phone handy but basically the response was we can’t change other things in the broader scale but we can change how we react to them, so I’m supposed to be doing work right now on grounding. I’m supposed to find, say, four things I see, three things I hear, two things I feel, etc. and focus on each of those things individually to shake my mind off the everythingisterriblethiswillneverend hamster wheel.
I haven’t written fanfic in years, but I still get some kudos. In the last week I’ve gotten gushing comments on 2 old fics.
This is one of my most favorite things ever. Also once found a fic I wrote on a rec list a few years later and almost cried lol.
I have sold four ornaments and a pair of earrings on Etsy in the past 2 days!
I defrosted strawberries to eat on our cereal! Delicious and makes me feel good
I SURVIVED THE DENTIST. Yes, I’m yelling.
I ate so so many veggies for dinner. With peanut sauce. I am a nutrition winner!
All your TVs are making me smile
Tomorrow nights supper may be veggies with peanut sauce now. Maybe on whole wheat noodles…
GOOD FOR YOU! That’s a big deal!
I revived my neglected sourdough starter! I gotta take better care of her, I know.
I got my sourdough starter from here: http://carlsfriends.net/
I found a much easier recipe for sourdough discard crackers…I even made it easier by mixing the melted butter and some olive oil into the sourdough discard bowl. I made them and had them with a good aged cheddar cheese. https://littlespoonfarm.com/sourdough-discard-crackers/
The corn tortillas in my grocery order arrived torn to pieces - so I tossed them in a little oil and baked them into chips and had them in taco salad. Came out pretty well. A little greasy, but, oh well.
I used to do Mypoints but I don’t really, any more, since it seems like it got harder to earn points without buying stuff I don’t need. SoI went to close out my account and I had enough points in there for a $5 gift card to the Evil Empire (which I’ll likely use on an ebook whenever one of my favorite authors releases one).
Whole family got out on a walk during a PERFECT sliver of weather this morning. Bright sun behind fluffy post storm clouds, happy busy birds, everything smelled like leaves… it was a perfect start to the day. Especially since we’re supposed to be back to storming tonight!
Found a new background for my work email that’s all pink and purple, and it’s turning the various “submit” buttons hot pink, too. Sometimes it’s the little things.
Judged my hydration level better and did not feel like I was about to pee my pants 2/3rds of the way through our walk today!
The shitty expensive hot cocoa mix that I bought for Boyfriend that we both hated is actually pretty good with a healthy slug of Kahlua added to it.
This is an important life lesson. Not sure what you learned, but it must be important. If in doubt, add alcohol, maybe?
I just finished walking for an hour on the treadmill. With 20 min to go I wanted desperately to stop but there was still 40 threads to catch up on. I lowered the speed a bit and slugged through. Thanks OMD forumers!
