I just got a reminder that I am at that point in my financial education where I’m past Personal Finance 101. Always feels good.
I made this banquette and this human.
The table is unstable and doesn’t fit the space so I have to rethink It, but generally the concept is sound and I am pleased.
Edit to add: two colours on the table because I only sanded half of it.
You’re awesome at making really cool things.
Gluhwein at Aldi only costs $5! The real stuff too, not some crappy knockoff shit!
Terrible Roommate and his Awful Piss Dog have moved out. They didn’t leave behind a huge mess or piles of garbage!
This morning I sucked it up and caught up on five months of spending. The job isn’t done, I only reconciled credit card spending, but it was a huge job and I had been dreading it for five months.
YAY! Not tiny victory.
I signed up for community solar a while back and apparently the project started producing energy in the past month. I realized this because my energy bill was very low so I looked and found a credit for more than half the electricity bill.
Today was my first good health day in a month. I did so many things! Framing pictures and cleaning out cupboards and cleaning rooms and working on the floors and not being cranky even though I have extra kids and delivering bags of stuff to the thrift store and catching up on admin stuff!
And now I am totally drained and almost fainted on the stairs. But I did stuff!
Tonight will be take out and a massage, but first I will nap.
YES GOOD.
I hope your nap includes cuddles from a dog or a cat.
Roughly two hours with two dogs and a cat. Every part hurts but I don’t have to do anything, so I am eating leftover and reading in the coziest situation imaginable.
After realizing kiddo had too much screen time this morning, we managed to get him outside where he used his cowboy boots to jump in puddles for quite a while.
I also did ALL the laundry, including putting almost all of it away, and washed dishes (not my chore) and cleared out a couple invisible corners.
Made plans to see a friend this weekend that I hadn’t seen in a while (months). Her suggestion, “… grab a coffee or something or maybe just a cup of tea at either of our houses.” So she came over for tea today!

Duckling has been watching TV as soon as we get up in the morning. Yesterday we decided to Parent Up and reduce tv use. It’s 9:45 AM and we’re having a snack and some TV, after running amok all morning, filling the dishwasher, bringing in washing/ hanging out a new load and washing the car. Also re-potting some gerberas. We have energy again!
(We had to wait until we had energy to be able to say No to tv, rather than the other way around.)
I had a massage and now my body moves in ways that I had forgotten bodies are supposed to move in.
Bonus: many parts of me are very well moisturized.
I removed another section of morning glory.
I stopped taking meds with bad side effects and feel so much better in a bunch of ways.
Made it home. Still sick, but now I’m sick at home.
Carried huge broken tupperware of soup to work without spilling soup all over my rucksack
