Went to a very cool museum set up next to a ongoing dig for the Miocene period (they were literally clearing part of a camel skeleton while we were there; if it was just me I’d probably still be there watching). Unfortunately they’re trying to set up as kind of a kids’ science center too, and they really need to either focus on what they know or spend some time training their volunteers on the basics of what they have. The Tesla coil being run by a volunteer whose explanation to a little kid was “I don’t know how it works, I don’t know anything about electricity” was…pretty pathetic.
Yeah, you cannot clean barf out of those.
One of our toilets has been taking a suuuuper long time to fill. I made the mistake of looking inside the upper tank late last night and
gross
there is something growing on the flapper seal. I don’t think flappers are supposed to be black and spiky ![]()
My landlord will come fix this, but not until the weekend ![]()
NO
When I had to use the bathroom in the middle of the night, my partner was like “where are you going?” (because I went to the farther bathroom). Me: “You haven’t seen what I’ve seen”
Congratulations on your new X-File, but I’m so sorry you have to burn your house down!
Our landlord was planning to do some remodeling after we leave, so y’know we could just help the process along a bit…
six years ago I worked in an org with about 400 employees in town, 6000 across the globe. I wasn’t really senior, but apparently just senior enough that people here knew who I was (top 20% of the hierarchy). And now one of them is working at the org I have a contract with. And her name is not familiar and her linkedin photo is not sparking any memories and her linkedin blurb doesn’t give any clue as to which team she was on.
Rouse’s store brand Kleenex is sandpaper.
New employee started today, reporting to person who reports to me, so maybe the supervisor has more info, but she’s left for the day.
Day one, new employee submits multiple PTO requests through the end of December, equaling 90 hours. All of them have the note “prior days off at previous employer”. This is NOT an internal transfer. Is she really saying “my previous employer approved this so you should too”. ?!??
Something like “scheduled conflict prior to employment” would be SO much better.
Was very excited because I thought I had to miss fighter practice tonight but turns out I don’t have to – but also now work is running me ragged and I don’t know if I have the energy to fight hnghhhhhh
Maybe not the energy - but the motivation!
Hitting things might be useful?
She requested another week off last night. So 20 days off submitted in first 6 months on the job. Without even any sick days accounted for (our pto pool is both sick and vacation days).
Is it possible that she negotiated this in her job offer?
It seems excessive I agree, but was it potentially agreed to as a hiring incentive?
The super comfortable bra I bought yesterday has become uncomfortable after 1 hour of wearing. And obviously I’ve already taken the tags off.
This is why I have like 14 unusable bras in a drawer. Awful ![]()

What if the client STOPPED BEING ANNOYING
She apparently mentioned to the HR person that she had a vacation planned. But no layout if days or this amount.
I’m the dissenter. Haha. My response is “get it, girl.”
