Tiny Complaints

UGH WHYyyyyyy

Would really appreciate if the threatening thunderstorms would:

  1. Strike, so I can plan on not playing softball tonight
  2. Clear out so I’m not worried about biking 10 miles through potential lightning with a tall metal stick (bat) strapped to my back.

The current weird sort of limbo is not appreciated.

I did a bad job jobbing today and instead read the latest Courtney Milan book, and now I have many many many things to do before 5 pm.

Also I’m worried about my mascara because it made me cry. Hopefully no one comes and talks to me!

After decades (DECADES) of easy problem-free automatic bill pay and direct deposits today I dealt with the SECOND screwed up ETF. And they want a voided check - what f’ing century is it!?

Sorry, new to me! I had to wait like 2 months for The Devil You Know, I forgot it came out in 2021 because I was so excited

I washed all of my sheets today and forgot to make my bed until I was ready to go to bed. Why do I do this to myself??

I confused the cook time for red lentils with the cook time for green lentils and had a pot of gloppy lentil paste for dinner.

I found a deer tick, tiny thing, on me, last night. No ring around the bite today, yet. Let’s hope it stays that way – I do NOT want Lyme disease in my dotage thanks.

If I ever find a deer tick on me, I hope I remember my plan to put a big black sharpie circle (or square) around it so that I can check the right place for that ring.

My boss scheduled an in-person 1 on 1 meeting with me on a Monday.

I’ve been working from home on Mondays for THREE YEARS.

How does he STILL not remember this?

I want a snack but I don’t know what snack I want. Just not any of the ones we have.

Unsolicited advice, but in some areas/some doctors like to give prophylactic antibiotic courses for embedded ticks, esp for high risk patients. Could be worth a call to your advice nurse line/PCP?

Note to self: remember to put cup under drip brewer prior to making the pour over.

Not embedded thank Gohd. Or, at least I don’t think so. And, so far, no ring either!

Tiny complaint for the day: I thought I’d edited down the seed collection to only what I’ve planned for this year, but there are more… going to the dump’s swap section. WTF!

Good news then-
“ In most cases, a tick must be attached for 36 to 48 hours or more before the Lyme disease bacterium can be transmitted. If you remove a tick quickly (within 24 hours), you can greatly reduce your chances of getting Lyme disease.”

If it was just on you but not biting/connected, my understanding is there is no risk of transmission.

Thanks! I don’t think it was there that long, but it was tiny and on my belly in a spot where I wouldn’t necessarily see it right away. It itched, which is how I found it.

I’ve been using voice to text more and more over the last year or so, and I knew it was just a matter of time…
I’ve sent a few accidental funny things to friends by text, but never to a relative stranger – until today.

In the midst of making a small grammatical error fix in the middle of a message to someone on buy nothing, I started giving my foster dog butt scratches.
Then I hit send, assuming I had simply capitalize that letter that had not been capitalized before. NOPE.
I added “ OH THE BOOTY, BOOTY BOOTY BOOTY BOOTY, SILLY BOOTY BOOTY BEAR” right smack in the middle of my message.
