Tiny Complaints

OK I ADMIT IT, IT WAS ME :poop:

Walmart app seems to be saying they are running out of things as I try to get my order input. Suspect this is the case. (Not tp or bleach or anything valuable like that- this was rice, then bbq sauce, then beans, and finally cat food).

Edit: and thread. Giving up and trying when it’s not the weekend.

Whenever it’s nice out (rarely), all the middle age men in my neighborhood like to turn on their loud power tools, when I would rather just listen to the birds and enjoy nature :woman_shrugging:

I am wet and my towel is not here. In the path between me and towel lies a dozen open windows.

And now I just caught Girl Kitty managing to leave a long turd right on the edge of the litterbox. She then dug in the box and seemed confused as to where her poo went. Cats, man.

My Dad’s 80th bday is in June. One sister sent out a note suggesting that we should start thinking about what a socially distant bday might look like - could we all fit in the garage if the weather was bad, etc. etc.

My little sister then piped in suggesting that we organize a bunch of their friends, decorate cars, and then drive by their house. “I’ve seen that be so fun on social media.” And she’s already suggested it to my mom, so I get to be the spoil sport to point out that decorating cars is unfriendly from an environmental standpoint, and I would prefer not committing to being in a car with them for an hour to get out to see my parents, and I don’t know how I’ll feel about public transit in a month.

Or you could not say anything yet and just see what they end up deciding, then make plans from there.

I totally feel you regarding cars - I haven’t owned a combustible engine in three years and I have a 20mile round trip commute. And I of course don’t know your family dynamics.

That said, people as a whole feel so restricted by everything right now and if this isn’t happening until next month, is speaking up so emphatically worth the potential drama yet?

In terms of the environmental impact of decorating a car, write and draw on the windows with bar soap and put freshly picked flowers all over? Or make pom poms and garlands from the paper in the recycling bin?

It’s not. (Fingers crossed so hard that he tops up his nighttime sleep with the same amount as his normal naptime for you.)

Just… in laws visit. I’ll leave it there. a whole bunch of tiny, not that big a deal but still annoying, annoyances.

I don’t have the right kind of salt to do the canning project that I want to do. And, it’s not a thing that’s easy to find in stores around here, except maybe Target? To be honest, I have no idea what the canning supply chain looks like right now. And I don’t want to order a thing of pickling salt online because I’m probably only going to do one pickling recipe all season, as I am generally not a fan of pickled foods.

I don’t think we can make it all the way through May without turning on the AC.

Cant you use most kosher salt? Or is that a thing that I perceive as ubiquitous but really isn’t?

Sadness is dumb. Agree

We only have sea salt. Which, yes, one can use, but according to a canning safety source that I trust, its weight is different from pickling salt or kosher salt so you have to weigh, not measure, your amount, in ounces, for the recipe to be safe. And my kitchen scale died a while ago so I can’t weigh anything.

Apparently it also makes your brine cloudy, not clear, but I don’t really care about that.
