Tiny Complaints

I…
Where to even begin on this one…

With the best intentions in mind I’m sure, my neighbor called the police to do a wellness check on me at 4am this morning.

She was concerned because I had not brought my trash can in (this is one of my anxiety staples, I always bring my trashcan in right after they pick it up… I have been letting it “de-virus” at the curb for an extra day over the last month or so before returning it to my house).

She also noticed my kitchen light was on overnight (I live alone so I alternate one light on in random places of the house each night).

She said she was concerned I had been hit by a car on my bike.

But… 4am? They arrived pounding on the doors and shining flashlights through the window, I thought someone was trying to break in
I’m exhausted.

Is this real life?

That must have been terrifying.

Did she possibly call it in at a more normal hour and that’s when they got around to it?

Could she not knock on your door herself?

16 days after the first two pairs found new homes, and no word on the last ones arriving. And I’ve mailed out a 4th pair to someone on the wet coast because I hold out hope that not everything will suck.

It’s definitely not a good fantasy.

I am not sure I even have words for that… I feel like I should feel glad someone had concern but it’s so misplaced and kind of invasive/stalkery?

I’m so sorry!

I am not usually tired at the time my household observes nap/quiet time (roughly noon till 2). I am tired as soon as quiet time is over (3ish).

Oh my… I can’t even imagine.

It’s my friend’s birthday soon and they don’t want anything. But I wanna!

If the smoke detectors upstairs don’t stop going off soon, I’m going to burn the building down myself.

OH I’m so sorry. There’s really nothing worse to my ears than a smoke detector. I’ll take nails on a chalkboard all day over a smoke detector.

I am behind on everything.

They’re super sensitive and go off multiple times every day, for 10-15 minutes at a time. I’m also ridiculously hostile about beeping things (I was a lot of fun in the hospital…I think the whole place is actually constructed of nothing but concrete and beeping things), so ummm…I should probably move.

I used baker’s flour for making bread, thinking it would be better? It was weird and doughy and didn’t work. Second batch with normal plain flour now in the breadmaker. I’m low on flour and need to order more on the weekend.

Second complaint: We agreed Friday would be takeaway night! I want garlic naan and chips. These don’t seem to be able to come from a single shop. I’m also too wound up to eat curry but I want curry (so… adding it to the menu to make next week instead). But we don’t have a good burger place I’m familiar with! Kind of tempted to be uncultured and order McDonald’s.

Is baker’s flour what we call cake flour in the US? It is lower protein, aka lower gluten (so cakes are tender)

Oh my, the internet tells me many different things. The word is not used consistently. I think I’ll email the shop I purchased it from and ask for help!

Husband worked his ass off first quarter. His bonus was half of what we calculated it should be. Now we need to figure out WTF.

All practical things point to us moving to the suburbs. (No income tax versus Oregon’s very high income tax. Cheaper homes. Better schools). But we liiiiike it here. When it’s not a pandemic. But I also would like a yard. And to not spent over 50% of our take home on housing. :sleepy:

My paypal account has my old name and an ancient address, but the steps to get it updated are super annoying.
