I should really shop around for insurance but I don’t wanna
I need one of these, also for other professors. Or I did before this month.
There was 1 tiny Victoria and 11 complaints
Not sure whether Tiny Complaint or Tiny Victory. Quite a bit of my job duties are on hold right now due to Covid-19. I ask my boss, can I work on this thing or that thing? Am told no.
I realistically have less than an hour’s worth of work per day, not counting any meetings or webinars or trainings. I am still getting paid for fulltime work, but I am rather bored.
Also feel slightly guilty.
People who work in HR should:
A. Know how to read
B. Respond when someone returns your email with a question
B. If you don’t know the answer, ask your supervisor
C. Don’t lie to me about an inquiry when you haven’t looked
D. Thank the payroll person who actually answered the f$&n question
I also want to add not recently have graduated or working as a coop student because there are some really good kids out there so I don’t want to stereotype
And resulted in a tiny victory that I now get $30 more per pay that I was previously having taken off my pay to offset tax season; the smart payroll person identified that this was still happening and set it to zero extra payment. This will now be added to be invested biweekly.
The floor tile that I picked after an agonizing selection is backordered until mid-May (the brand is from Italy). My contractor’s tile broker is sending me a couple of other samples but it’s just not the same as going to a showroom and I can no longer go to a showroom… I don’t know if I just need to wait.
My new supervisor seems pretty cool, but my new team lead is the most annoying creature I’ve had to reference for assistance.
Me asking a simple, straightforward question almost always leads to them (completely unecessarily) investigating every single detail about the case I’m working on and then not answering the crucial goddamn question I began the conversation with.
I anticipate that I’ll be utilizing the Lead Line (random chance which one you’ll get!) on a pretty regular basis.
I had originally asked for 12"x24" tiles. I asked to check if 24"x24" are available, and they are! So I said to order those. We can lay them out staggered and they’ll still look great.
I can’t find the clippy thing that makes Ponder cut my hair in a straight line. It was last seen being played with by Duckling last time we cut my hair…
I had just scanned in documents for our HELOC application and my computer crashed and then wouldn’t restart. I tried and tried but I think it’s dead.
I switched to a new set of clear dental aligners today, and it’s really uncomfortable.
Marmalade started reading a book that I was reading. But he took my bookmark and moved it to his spot
Whaaaat? Don’t disrespect another’s bookmark!
I hit my elbow SUUUUUPER hard on the refrigerator door a few hours ago, and it still hurts like a mother, radiating pain. It isn’t swollen, but it feels like it should be. And I realized today I am 44 now, not 43 any more (my birthday was in March, hooray ) and stuff like this becomes more annoying and difficult as you get older.
I sliced the bottom of my foot on a sticking up piece of metal in our kitchen doorway this morning. Then I tried to stick it down, and I have superglue on my fingers and its driving me crazy.
folks from historically marginalized communities who present their work or introduce something they’ve created with the words “this is just”.
Unless of course it is a social justice thing, then you get a pass on the word. Or if it is a comment on something that you’ve been given “this is just a pat on the head”. Your thing that you put time or effort into is never “just”. It is the thing you made. It is a prototype, it is a strawman, first draft…
I just saw the breeze blowing down the street. As in, there was enough particulate in the breeze for it to be visible. Most of that particulate is pollen. It hasn’t rained in over a month and it’s likely to rain until Sunday at the earliest.
I just don’t wanna.
I would like to be outside planting things but:
- It is way too early to plant most things
- It’s a work day.
Tomorrow I can plant cauliflower and brussels sprouts. And a bunch of other stuff I would love to plant but isn’t here yet. Hmmph.
My sewing machine is defying me, and I was hoping to get a mask done before going to pick up a grocery order.
