Tony Victor is that I have an appointment with my doctor tomorrow.
Accessory Tiny Complaint is that now I’m imagining all the things that can go wrong with a pair of lungs and I just really, REALLY hope that it’s asthma. Or anxiety. I would LOVE it to be anxiety, kthx, and not any of the many ridiculous places my mind is going.
I don’t actually think I’ve had wheezing – just can’t catch my breath well, for days on end. I don’t think I’ve got any mucus in the lungs right now, but I wonder if a hot pad would help either way…
ETA: Nevermind, there’s wheezing. Gonna investigate your hot pad idea.
I’m sure you probably already know about this, and not relevant if it’s been going on for a while now. I’m not trying to alarm folks, either. Just recently or off and on for a while? Difficulty breathing is one of the symptoms of COVID-19. Younger, more relatively healthy folks have been recovering with some signs of the symptoms, but it may be worth it to get tested.
Edit:Jeez, I’mma just leave it open, mobile formatting is not working for me today.
Over two weeks of constant symptoms (from well before there were diagnosed cases in the Bay), and I’ve had periods months ago where I couldn’t catch my breath but only for like… a few hours at most. I have no other symptoms – no fever – so if there’s a mechanical issue I’m suspecting something else.
Have you mentioned before that you don’t have underlying asthma, I can’t remember? Sometimes I feel like I can’t take a full breath (like, all day, and it does feel like a prolonged minor asthma attack) and I can’t figure out why and then I check the air quality websites and our AQ is shit. Since I don’t get acute asthma attacks anymore like I did when I was a kid, I never think about it. But it is definitely a possibility?
Also - if you are allergic to pollen, spring pollen season has started, even here in the cold mountain regions. Last week I was like, why am I so stuffed up and sneezing. I thought maybe it was the dust I had been kicking up in the house. But then someone directed me to the regional allergy website and elm pollen is through the roof here right now. So another possibility.
One of the things I’m wondering about is if I have in fact developed asthma. My lungs generally haven’t been as good as they were before the 2017 wildfires (that one was a real doozy for them, and 2018 wasn’t great either) and the symptoms I do have (can’t catch my breath, my throat feels a little tight, I cough sometimes after a deep breath) are very asthma-like. (ETA: AQI has actually been good here, though; ocean breezes are so deeply helpful.)
No sniffles or sneezies or red eyes or stuffed-up sinuses. I’ve only had an allergic reaction a few times in my life (mostly actually to Old Cat! hahahaha), though, so I’m not very familiar with the various types of allergic reactions I could be having.
If you are exposed to molds, I think you could be having these symptoms. I’m not sure how to tell asthma from bronchitis (maybe more coughing with bronchitis?). Has pneumonia been ruled out?
My cat is in the dining room staring at an exterior wall. She’s obviously hearing something in there which freaks me out. She’s done it at least one other time, but I don’t remember anything coming in around that time. I have had bats which gross me out every time. I’m a giant wuss. The only good thing is that she tells me we have one because she’s trying to get at it flying around up at the ceiling. Ugh.
I overslept by A LOT and didn’t really wake up until 9:15am. Somehow still made it to work by 9:40. Cannot remember if I used deodorant. Definitely forgot to brush my teeth. The teeth brushing is easily (and already) fixed by the kit I keep in my desk drawer, but ack., human stink.
I bought cheap coffee last night because I’m trying to prioritize my spending. I bought hemp milk to offset the taste. Both cost less together than the coffee I wanted to buy.
