Tiny Complaints

Psh, tummy needs to get with the program! (Although fwiw I relate to the tummy capacity woes)

Trying to figure out when to get my flu shot, considering that I will feel like absolute death for at least 24 hours afterward. Currently leaning toward Friday after work. (I just took a bunch of vacation so don’t want to take sick time to sleep off the aches and fever.) That way I should be all right by Saturday night, and have Sunday to catch up on life stuff.

WHY, body? Boyfriend is always fine after his! Still better than the flu, but, UGH.

Yaaaay. Thank you for getting the shot though! As someone about to have a baby during flu season and who is TERRIFIED, I’m seriously appreciative

Her pee will explain it. :joy:

I swear MMM forums and these forums are the reason I bother and remember to get my flu shot. My first was two years ago because of the forums.

Since I’m on an immunosuppressant, they actually have not allowed me to leave the doctors/clinics office without giving me a flu shot the past couple years. They just whisk me straight down to the flu shot clinic when I set foot in the building in the fall. (I do have to go there every 4 weeks for labs so I am there often). Much better than my previous method of “oh yea I should do that, I should do that, I should do that…” .and then flu season’s over.

I used to have my annual wellness check scheduled to be able to get a flu shot then. After I moved states I took forever to find a new doctor and got way off schedule. My insurance will probably cover a shot at a pharmacy but that would require trying to navigate my benefits. Maybe I’ll ask the pharmacy to check if it would be covered, and then I don’t have to call the insurance company or use their terrible website that tends to have out of date information that requires multiple phone calls to verify.

Do you have a new doctor? If so, you can check through their office if you’re eligible for a flu clinic or appointment there – they should know if they take your insurance for it or not.

To make sure I am in the spirit of this thread, Wizard’s TAship this quarter is Monday and Wednesday evenings, roughly 7-9. I am displeased and wish his department would stop giving him evening TAships.

If you get it done at a CVS in target they give you a $5 gift card  and they take most insurances!

I have a weekly meeting with a supervisor (I’m freelance so it’s a bit weird), and last week she paid for my drink, so I thought it might be her policy to expense it, but today I got a drink then had to pay for it

Oh gosh, that’s a terrible TAship time :frowning: How are the students in these evening classes? At my university, attendance would be approximately zero…

@diapasoun I have a new doctor but she’s a couple towns over (about a 30 minute drive). My town has other doctors but she was the closest female doctor accepting new patients in the network I wanted to be in. There are a couple pharmacies within ten minutes.

@Bracken_Joy good to know! I think I need some more sunscreen too so I can be super responsible.

Bit late to this but just so you know, Getaround is peer-to-peer cars, not company owned, so you might just need to see if someone has started lending out cars in your hood that aren’t smaller ones - or even, my friend Michael had his neighbor with a pickup get getaround and put their car on it, and then there’s a way so that you can lock it to lend to only one account. It means the insurance and key handoff side of thing is handled by getaround, and they get to give money to their friends to borrow the car. Could work for someone in your hood if you know someone who maybe leaves their car during the day but has a kid-friendly car. Advanced Placement carsharing hacking definitely tho, lol.

I’m sure I can find a free zipcar membership thing somewhere by the way… I’ll look. Working in alt transpo for all those years has its perks.

Tiny complaint: my birthday plans are ruined because my kid is in hospital today and won’t be fit for daycare tomorrow.

Kid in hospital is a major complaint, but missing out on birthday plans is a tiny complaint.

Oh no! Best wishes for kid! May you be worrying about how to reschedule birthday plans in a few days, and may you laugh and give him a hard time about this when he’s a teenager.

Toddler sneezed on my face yesterday and now my sinuses are all running. Also my left shoulder muscles are too tense to move properly.

@HaH I hope that your big complaint turns into a tiny complaint too, echoing @rural

On the way to the office, there is a billboard for a haunted house that is upsetting to me. Super gross. But if I were to have a face to face with the owners, I’d be the jerk apparently.

Curious about this.
Is it a “Hell house”?
