I took the oven door apart to clean it and some small part broke and now I can’t put it back together
Kiddo has two doctor appointments this afternoon so my email got 11 messages. Reminders, link to the portal, test result available notification, two notifications about lab work (that’s what the test result was ), future appointment confirmation, and I don’t even know what else.
I ordered some protein bars online from the manufacturer and it’s apparently being “shipped” with DoorDash??? There was no indication of this on the checkout page lol
I guess it doesn’t really matter, other than I live in an apartment building with an unmanned lobby and a buzzer so I would have given delivery instructions if I’d known…
I just noticed that the wool and cashmere throw blanket that I keep on the basement couch isn’t soft and squishy anymore and is significantly shrunken. I think the catsitter must have put it in the washer and dryer
TC: my homeowners insurance is going up by 40% for next year.
TV: we didn’t get dropped by our insurance company, which was a legitimate concern.
2021: $860
2022: $930
(2023 I can’t find)
2024: $1,970
Quote for 2025 renewal: $2,760
…we got a second quote and it came back for $3,600
Please note we don’t live in like, Hurricane areas or on a flood plain or a coast or ANYTHING like that.
cries in New Orleans homeownership I feel this. Glad you are still insured.
This happened to me! With a large order of soil from Home Depot. It was delivered by a 65-year-old (so he told me) gentleman who could barely lift the bags out of the truck. So then I had to find a cash tip for him because I felt AWFUL.
I know awhile ago the forum was talking about jobs that are stable in these times. My wife got a new job at a company that makes it easier for insurance agents to shop around for better prices and I think it might be the only stable job left in this economy
I’m truly grateful that we’re still insured. This is what our new fire map looks like and I live in that gray strip.
But - I also know that we’re vastly underinsured - we’re only insured for ~300k but it would cost at least twice that to rebuild. Not sure how to fix that.
Yeah, I felt better about our renewal increase when I found out the part of it is that they’ve been increasing rebuilding coverage in keeping with what it would actually cost to rebuild the place. So that makes it a little easier to swallow the increase, that at least we functionally are still covered for the replacement value of the house if anything happened.
Mosquitoes. Also I went outside without pants.
I’m trying to meal plan and I even have a list of meals we’ve had in the past but nothing sounds good. But I also don’t want take out.
The old wooden bbq cover broke and smashed me in the cheekbone. Icing it to keep the bruising down.
The Universe sent me 2 things of moisturizer from a pricey brand for my birthday!!!
(Someone used their old/my current address to order and Skin Fix said I could keep it)
Attempting to wear even fancy $$$ sunscreen is giving me wicked acne.
Booooo. This is also my life.
Through a series of unique circumstances I have been eating a ton of processed meat. It slaps?! It is so good. I try not to eat it normally for health but I wish it was better for me. If I had millions of dollars I would fund “here is why sausage is actually great for you” studies.
