We’re in the process of moving out of our building at work (long, stupid story on its own). The company has long since taken everything it wants, so what’s left is a free-for-all, and it’s very nice stuff for anyone setting up a shop, especially what they left in the labs. ESD desks, component cabinets, regular cabinets, carts, ridiculous amounts of cabling, etc. And yet despite the fact that the company wants none of this stuff, the labs are still badge-locked, and there are only three of us left who have access. So guess how I’m spending a ridiculous amount of my time?
We can’t even tell people to prop the doors open because they start screaming. and those of us who have badge access have it because we’re the emergency response team, so we’d have to go respond to the alarms anyway. And apparently opening up the walls and cutting certain electrical wires would be vandalism.
(TV, I did get haul out of the smaller ESD desks for myself plus a couple new monitors and cabling, but still, I have no idea why they won’t just unlock the damn doors and make it easier for the vultures to descend.)

We’re about to switch daycares and I’m a little bit heartbroken. We’ve got multiple good options but I don’t like any of them as much as I liked our current daycare as it was a year ago. Circumstances at our current daycare have changed for various reasons and we need to make a move but I’m very sad about it, and I’m very sad at having to tell them because they’re really struggling with enrollment at the moment.

Truly a tiny complaint. Background info, sometimes I take the dogs for a ride because Raptor really likes to see the neighbors’ cows and horses. Usually I can stop in the road and let them look for a while, but every now and then, a vehicle gets behind me and I have to go on. Today, somebody got behind me going both directions so we could hardly pause at all.

Okay my mom’s prime account has saved the day. A new order has been placed with most of the stuff arriving tomorrow when I’m home all day, and one last thing on Monday when I’ll at least be home in the evening. And hopefully I can get a refund for the original package.

Howie sweats in his sleep and stains the sheets (he’s not coming to bed dirty - it’s just his body chemistry). Like his pillowcases turn yellow-ish no matter what I do (bleach, oxyclean, bluing). And there’s a distinct smell too - not dirty but not exactly pleasant either. I’m doing a full change and wash of all the bedding (mattress protector, sheets, blanket, comforter) and it is such a pain in the ass. I’m trying the comforter in our new washing machine for the first time so here’s hoping it doesn’t come out all lumpy.
