Tiny Complaints

I bought some sleep shorts with pockets at Primark for like 3 pounds (and are also long enough that they don’t ride up to indecent exposure)… and I never knew how great this life is where I don’t tuck my phone into my waistband while cooking is.

My friend’s 3 month old has pockets in his pants. For all those things infants need easy access to.

I started my graduate school application and it’s so annoying and tedious that I can’t get very far so how will I ever make it through actual classes while working full time and having a family?

Coffee and yelling.

In my mum’s case, tea and yelling.

I want Malaysian food for dinner but it comes with a million plastic tubs and I’m probably not ready for that level of flavour yet AND I told myself we weren’t buying takeaway this month. Starts googling recipes

Decided to make daal (lazy persons version) for dinner. But I still have to get off my butt and make it, and this couch is very comfy.

Because of the holiday my paycheck is coming a day later than I had planned (really nbd, very tiny)

I called my auto insurance company to see if I could get a lower rate because my car is not used for commuting anymore (yes, 6 months late, but I had to renew this morning), and it makes no difference in my state, so no discount. :frowning:

They don’t have a lower rate for lower mileage?

Nope. Apparently some states do not have that. Including my dumb state.

Similar here. I drove SUV 4k miles in the last 2 years. Apparently despite this it still costs the same amount to insure as the actual commuter car. Silliness.

Granted we tend to drive it when the roads are worse, so there’s probably an equivalent chance of an accident adjusted for that, but STILL.

Maybe you were already at the lowest rate? I lowered mine when I left work (well a year or so after…). Then I got a “threatening” letter from my insured about mileage -they estimate your mileage but also monitor your mileage via your mechanic! I complained to my agent and the company directly about the tone of their letter. My mileage has a big vacation “lump” in it and I took it in for regular maintenance after a trip. They assumed my average mileage was over the insured level.

Maybe I am (in fact, I probably am), but I asked specifically and they said my state made no differentiation between commuter cars and non-commuter cars.

I only drove around 1000 miles over the last six months! (I know this because I have only bought gas twice! And I usually fill up at around 400 miles to be safe.)

I read the wrong swim schedule and tried to go to an imaginary swim.

BIG complaint incoming.

Met my brother’s girlfriend yesterday. She’s a little shy, but really nice and they seem good together.

So he brought her to our barbecue with our friends, and unbeknowst to me, one of my friends misgendered her. Multiple times. With very clear female presentation and multiple introductions as bro’s GIRLFRIEND. She’s trans, and was pretty upset.

I just heard about this now and I’m about to go mama bear on someone’s ass.

Oh this sucks. :frowning: :frowning: :frowning:
MAMA BEAR ACTIVATE.
Hugs to bro’s gf.

Yeah, I’m trying to figure out how to deal with it in a productive way and not just anger-crying (I cry when I’m angry, not a particularly scary mama bear). Like I’m cis and I remember being misgendered (more maliciously) in middle school because I was flat-chested with a short haircut and I was upset for dayssssssssssss. I assume it’s worse if you have dysphoria.

It’s also just fucking rude.
And mean, if the person is being willfully ignorant and hurtful.
You could start something like this?
“Hey, remember X, my brother’s girlfriend? It came to my attention you called her by the wrong pronoun several times. I want to make sure this doesn’t happen again, both in her presence and also when she’s not around, because it’s really not okay.”
