To wash walls I do what my mom always did which is dishwashing soap in hot water. It takes off the dirt and grease without hurting the paint.

Those I usually do with rubbing alcohol on a cotton swab so as not to get them all wet!

I don’t have a before pic but check out my bathroom. I have these weird ledges behind my tub and it was so easy to just let everything accumulate there… yes, including the shower caddy, which was lying on its side but I would hang my razor on it. But then the bottom ledge especially would be always grimy and hard to clean because it was covered with stuff.
Hanging a shower caddy on the wall instead of on the actual shower is one of my favorite tricks. Makes it much easier to access, especially if you are as short as me!
So I did this. Fingers crossed that the Command hooks stay up–I bought the Large size to increase my chances. Even my husband said, “the bathroom looks amazing. I didn’t realize how cluttered it was until it wasn’t cluttered.”

Oh for sure, rubbing alcohol all the way for surfaces like that. Mostly I’m avoiding cleaning the baseboards because that’s a long way down

Are they normal Command hooks or bathroom ones? I had art hanging with normal ones and they did not survive regular Kiddo bath time after I want to say a week or two. I ended up nailing hooks into the wall but also doing Command hooks to keep them from shifting side to side since they’re right by the toilet and there was a 100% chance Kiddo would want to mess with them if they moved at all. No idea how to add permeant hooks to a tile wall though.

If you applied to a clean, dry, smooth surface and give them time to set I think those should work great. You can also try heavy duty suction cups if they do fall off

Yeah, it is a really weird arrangement! I have lived a lot of places and this is a new one on me. I don’t know what is under all that tile. Empty space? Pipes of some kind? A pump to raise water to the sewer, as this is a below-grade bathroom? (You would think that would have an access port if so, as in my old house, but one never knows…)

I have 4 of the wet command hooks up in my bathroom right now! They’re great. I lost 1 to a towel that was too heavy and haven’t fixed the paint or replaced the hook yet. Your weird nook is very organised.

Why didn’t I know about this thread? I just unf-cked the surface of my dresser and put away everything that was in a pile on my bedroom floor! I have no before pictures because I didn’t know I had a place to show off my hard work. But don’t worry, there is still plenty in my house to unf-ck, especially after the last few months of me being super busy. Thanks to this thread, I’m even more excited to do it!

I’ve either been busy with birthday stuff or working stuff out with my teenager or just doing nothing because it’s too hot to do anything. But I did clean up my bookshelf in my bedroom, where the window AC is.
