The Not Pregnant...Yet Thread

Here with a math complaint! So here is my FF for the month. Straightforward, IUI should happen this week.

Sperm is shipped to me in containers that last for seven days (including the first day of transit). Last month, between the holidays complicating shipping and the fact that I ovulated late, we did the IUI earlier than we should have. It didn’t work, oh well.

This month, I wanted to avoid that, but ran into another holiday this month too. The shipping timing that made the most sense was to have it arrive Sunday (today) or Monday, but since that’s impossible, it’ll arrive late Tuesday night, for a Wednesday IUI at the soonest.

I’m using the $$$$ OPKs that give you the four-day window, and of course, my window starts today. Fingers crossed that I do have the full four days, and Wednesday won’t be too late.

Going forward, if the timing keeps working out like this, we’ll have to start ordering a back-up tank ($350 more), and going to the doctor to have them move the sperm half-way through the week.

This whole situation is annoying for the obvious reasons - I am cheap and want a baby! - but also makes me worry about my IUI countdown. If none of these IUIs work, is it because the timing was bad, or because unmedicated IUIs won’t work for me? If we have to switch back to a fertility clinic, we’ll lose another 3ish cycles getting set up, and we might even lose access to our sperm. Ughhh

Does anyone want some OPKs and HCG tests? They expire oct this year.

Very annoyed. SirB’s Important Work Thing means we won’t be able to do IUI this month, because he’s going to be out of town and also I have no child care. :weary: so that sucks.

I wonder how long I can push this out before they make me pay another $590 consult fee and $1-2k more for re testing.

This stinks! Can calendars just get it together, please?

I will take them if no one else wants them.

I did once get pregnant having an IUI the morning after I ovulated (on top of or right after ovulation has some reasonable stats for IUI), but storing sperm on-site was definitely a perk of switching to a fertility clinic eventually. :crossed_fingers:t2:

This makes me feel better - thanks! I didn’t know that.

Our current sperm storage situation is a little :grimacing::grimacing::grimacing: for reasons I can get into once baby is here, so I’m a liiitle worried about moving it if we had to, but I bet we could make it work.

I’m so overwhelmed with ttc info. I should go on a low information diet.

BUT I MUST KNOW IF MUCINEX WILL GET ME PREGGO.

IUI scheduled for Wednesday morning! I asked my friend for a ride, since my wife has a meeting at the same time, and it feels weird to bring my giant sperm container in an Uber?!

Clinic says Swan and I need negative COVID tests by Friday to keep our already-postponed-once appointment for next Monday. We’re going to test today, and if still positive today, going back again Thursday. Today is the seventh day since Swan’s positive, so I am hopeful? I am almost entirely back to normal, excepting a bit more sinus drainage than usual. Still choosing to mostly rest, except for the journey out for testing, though. Fingers crossed for negative results so we can get on with this show next week!

ttc and cancer update

I got a positive ovulation test a few days ago on CD18 (now at CD21), but I haven’t seen a shift in my temperatures so I’m not sure whether I actually ovulated. We’re done trying for this cycle regardless. My husband is about 2/3 of the way through radiation treatments for his Hodgkins lymphoma and the side effects are starting to make him miserable.

My next cycle is expected to begin the same day he has his last treatment. Not looking forward to that.

Niche meme, perfect for me, who is trying to get a baby, is supposedly is going to Mardi Gras in New Orleans in late February (we’ll see!), and has a well-documented fondness for frat boys.

Because of the shirt fold, I first read that as “King SNAKE” and I was like, WTAF? And then some small memory of a goth book I was obsessed with in middle school that mentioned this surfaced and I was like, ohhhhh, CAKE.

That is peak humor, when you make a joke that only makes sense with googling. I sent it to an American friend I’m supposed to go to Mardi Gras with (again we’ll see!) and she also didn’t get it.
