I suppose I do know what my problem is but with 1 cycle in 6 months have also felt that things are moving quite slow.

Bodies!! fist shake Circumstances! fist shake :rage:

I’m vaguely interested in doing something like this simply to find out if my FSH is still as jacked up as it was three years ago (while AMH was okay-ish), but not sure if I want to spend money on sheer curiosity.

Hopefully for you they help point you toward a direction from here.

Had our re start appointment with our fertility clinic this morning. Such a strange zoom call, he was basically just like “how you’ve been. Okay. Do you know what you want to do?”
We’re going to do labs and an ultrasound for follicle count and see where I’m at. I would love to try an IUI before moving to an embryo transfer, but if I’ve got jack all for eggs it’s not worth it probably. I’m CD3 and the labs need to be CD3, but they need to be AM and fasted, so it’ll be next cycle. “Luckily” that’s like a grand total of 25 days

We’re going to do the usual fertility ones like AMH, FSH, and estradiol, and also vitamin D, TSH, and prolactin.

I see the temptation to try IUI since you got pregnant on your own! I’ve even been tempted to try it again (but with donor sperm this time) and I’m really too old. (Maybe my eggs are better inside my body than in the dish, if we had better sperm… but again, 40.) I mean, it works for some people and less meds and all.

Bummer about having to wait a whole cycle to do the day 3 blood tests! In the meantime, do you do egg quality supplements or is that not your thing?

Definitely is my thing, BUT I’m still breastfeeding so that’s very limiting on options. Basically the okay things are all ones I’m already taking- fish oil and choline and such.

The whole weaning thing is a complex factor in all of this.

With my first child I eliminated the first feeding and worked my way down to the bedtime one. It was a huge mistake. The next two kids I eliminated the bedtime one first and replaced it with a snack and glass of milk. That went very smoothly.

I’m not intending to wean right now.

Oooh, yeah, I didn’t think of that! But you would be able to do an FET without weaning? What about IUI, would that have to be unmedicated if you go that route?

In theory clomid is actually safe with BFing (letrazole is not, and most injectables are). I definitely wouldn’t do a FET without weaning since I don’t want to risk lowering my odds at ALL with my remaining embryos. That being said, supposedly as long as your prolactin is normal (which it often does after 12+ months of BFing), then it doesn’t lower your odds of conception. BUT I have had elevated prolactin in the past because of my prolactinoma, so I’m anticipating elevated levels. That’s a big reason I want to get labs before I make a plan- if my prolactin is normal and my AMH is decent, maybe we’ll move forward with an IUI now, otherwise we’ll probably delay until Latte is ~2 years old or she chooses to wean herself.

There’s a whole complex interplay here with my incredibly high risk of breast cancer(1) and extended BFing lowering cancer risk, in addition to the whole like… if she ends up being my only kid, I don’t want to stop BFing early and have it all be for nothing.

It’s complicated.

(1) (the genetic counselor said it’s minimum 38% risk, but she expects a gene variant may be found that’s at okay in my family so it may be higher. Not to mention the entirely possible risk all the clomid and IVF cycles could theoretically be increasing the risk as well)

That all makes a ton of sense… sounds like you’ve put a lot of thought into it! So another advantage of IUI is that you could potentially do it now vs. later, while the embryos on ice are hopefully buying you some time! I’ll have my fingers crossed.

Yep exactly. Especially since we have insurance coverage for now at least. TBD when SirB switches jobs.

I got really lucky with scheduling the required counseling appointment for receiving donor embryos! A practitioner who is leaving one practice and starting her own called me right back and offered me an appointment as soon as tomorrow. Sadly, the Boy is going out of town, but I was able to make it for 7/6. I was afraid I would have to make a million calls and have trouble finding something as soon as I would like.

TMI OvuSense Review

I like it.

I am getting more stable readings, regardless of whether I sleep in, etc. My brain is better at night so I forget to put it in less than I forget to temp in the AM. It’s more comfortable than a cup due to shape and softer material of the “tail”. (It looks like a giant sperm lol!) I’m getting better at downloading data with NFC (maybe).

Ovusense:

Thermometer (NOT same time frame) :

I was going to do a direct comparison but I have not so there ya go.

I will now take questions.

I read this as I will NOT take questions and I was like wow, power move :joy:

Ty for the review!

Meanwhile, I am not thrilled with TempDrop/its algorithm. Or maybe it’s FertilityFriend I am not thrilled with? My chart looks super weird. I am pretty sure I ovulated but it wasn’t on day 8. My guess is Monday. Yesterday morning the TempDrop initially gave me a much higher reading, but then today it revised yesterday’s downward.

It will revise its estimate if subsequent data ruins the pattern. If this was my chart I would say none of the temp jumps really look like ovulation…

That’s what I’m saying! If I were trying to use this for birth control, FF jumping the gun would be not ideal…
