Okay I’m over 100 posts behind but I’ll just jump in with my latest. I was tired of my face, so I went to the super fancy rich lady face clinic. I had planned on being like “do a facial or something, improve this with money” but the lady was like “oh hey your skin barrier is very sad, we need to fix that before anything else”. She gave me a buncha sample cups of stuff to use and over the course of 3.5 weeks (with check-ins) I already saw notable significant improvement, so I bought the main ones I’ve been using. Here is what the fancy clinic has me using twice per day for the most ridiculously sensitive, unhappy, allergic ally prone skin on planet earth:

These require an insanely microscopic amount- the same spoons I use to measure it out are like 1/4 tsp or something, it’s wild. It may actually end up being cheaper than what I’ve been using because it’s literally such a small amount.

AM, I also use the ordinary Azleic acid after the cleaner and before the vitamin K serum then moisturizer. PM is just these 3.

Anyway, at a month now and my skin is improving a lot.

Can anyone recommend a moisturizer alternative to The Ordinary’s Moisturizing Factors + HA moisturizer? Apparently they are an Estee Lauder company, and Lauder is one of the driving oligarchs behind the Greenland invasion.

I have quite sensitive, dry skin and this is one of the few moisturizers I’ve tolerated well. Any replacement must be Unscented. I’ve tried Cerave awhile ago but it sadly was not right for me. No need for SPF, as this is my nighttime moisturizer. Prefer lower cost, but will spend as needed if I can get a sample size to test out before investing.

I wonder if you can get samples from a dermatologist.

Otherwise - check cetaphil or aveeno.

Is your skin dry or oily or…?

Dry, but acne prone :frowning:

I think Avene is still not estee lauder and they are great for sensitive skin - not sure it they have a direct match for that moisturizer.

Skinfix I think you should sample before buying or check the refund policy but they have a nice all purpose moisturizer a bit heavier than the ordinary one, so I used it more slowly. And definitely not lauder

I realize both of these are not cheap. I will find a cheaper one hold on babies call

I’ve heard YouTube derms recommend vanicream stuff before:

I got this one in a pinch most recently when my Kiehls went missing after the holidays. I am more oily (and acne prone) but it’s been great in winter. I do not think I could use it in summer time tho. The eczema thing intrigued me (I have that but not on my face. Yet.)

Thanks! I’d seen the Vanicream recommended before. I may try that before some of the more expensive ones since the price is right.

Let me know what you think! I like to have a cheapie and a middle shelf option to rotate through

I use that! I like it a lot but I am not very finicky.

My sister gave me some Vanicream in a mixed bag Christmas gift that she called “the best things I found on the Internet this year.”

It’s been 4 months since my white was erased and I was so upset. It’s coming back in quite nicely now! I’ve had it toned more ashy twice since then including tonight and I’m much happier with it less golden. I think the tones are growing out well together too, my faded box color line was really awful. The white is mostly on the top which is good because it’s the visible part, it’s still very dark underneath. Someday it’s going to look really good!

I really like how it looks! It looks so good! I plan to never dye my hair and I hope the greys grow in like that
