Im the same, always wash face in shower
How do you actually wash your face in the shower?! I had no idea people did that, lol. Like, you just shove your face under the water with your eyes closed? Don’t you get shampoo in your eyes and/or your hair wet when you aren’t washing your hair? Maybe this is a curly/straight hair thing but I just can’t imagine washing my face in the shower. I don’t usually even get my face wet when I shower! Huh. Humans are funny critters, aren’t we?
I have face wash in there. And yes, I just stick my face in and wash, eyes closed. When I had long hair I wore a turby twist or shower cap in if it wasn’t a wash day. Now, a headband is sufficient. Just like when I wash at the sink ![]()
I actually find it much easier to keep my hair out of the way since I’m not bent over a sink.
But the face wash doesn’t stream into your eyes from your forehead? I am obviously overthinking all of this. And none of it matters, like people can do whatever, I’m just surprised that’s the default!
OH, like in movies when people open their mouths under a shower?! And they just let the water kind of go into their mouths and stuff? That weirds me out too for some reason. Maybe it’s because I’m terrible at swimming and always get water in my nose, lol.
I wash it off the same way I do at the sink. I start by removing most of it with water that comes to my face, and face goes into the water for the last wash. I don’t know, I’ve never had any problem with it. But I was also a swimmer, so I have definitely had periods of fully coat my face with face wash and shove it directly into a hard spray of water, so maybe I just have different standards from other people. ![]()
THIS! I think that’s what it is.
I think it’s really funny that I was typing that when you were editing to add the swimmer thing. ![]()
Hahahaha, right?! Our weird pseudo twindom continues.
Except, apparently, for swimming ![]()
Haha I am not a swimmer and I wash my face in the shower because I apparently am super messy with water when washing my face and its easier. Idk!
Brushing teeth in the shower always weirds me out though.
Same, not a swimmer, wash my face in the shower. Twice, even. I’m actually perplexed by your question, @AllHat. I can’t figure out how it would be a hard thing to do. Doesn’t your face get wet when you wet, wash, and rinse your hair? I’d never be able to keep my face dry through all that!
Not really! Haha, IDK. Clearly I am the odd duck on this one, lol.
I’m impressed. You may be an odd duck, but you’re a talented one!
Wut???
I soap up my face or use face wash and stick my face in the water! Eyes closed so it doesn’t get in my eyes. If I’m showering, everything gets washed, except sometimes I only wash my body and not my hair. But even then I want to wash my face!
Haha, I hear it! I think I’m just worried about getting my face wash into my hairline and also not rinsing all the product off properly, plus don’t want to stick my face under the water, etc. I usually wash my face right before I shower so it’s already clean, then I apply my skincare stuff afterward.
And I thought it was efficient to do it all at once… I want my skin to look nice but at the same time I don’t want to add many steps to my routine!
Do you brush your teeth in the shower too? I’m now fascinated by that.
Also is this reminding anyone else of that episode of Seinfeld where Kramer is washing dishes in the shower? LOL.
For me, showering and brushing my teeth are separated timewise. I shower right after putting the toddler down for bed and getting in my pajamas, then we have TV time and I normally snack during that, then I brush my teeth right before I go to bed.
Marmalade does sometimes but I never do. I feel like this is a waste of water? I always turn off the tap when I’m not actively using it to rinse. And since “washing” is the shower activity, brushing teeth in there wouldn’t save any time!
I brush my teeth while my conditioner sets in a bit, so I don’t feel like I’m wasting time/water!
