Tell me more about this CannaCell brand! It is new to me!
@Elle Awesome! I like it a lot. I hope it works for you.
@noodle I don’t know that much about it, a friend recommended it to me and the ingredients looked good so I figured I’d give it a shot! Other than the cleanser I’ve been pretty happy with it, I know the brand andalou has other lines too.
It’s Andalou Naturals with hemp cells. To me, it’s just another flavor. I have the body lotion and I like it a lot; the pharmacy had buy one get one free and they had run out of lavender, and this is my next favorite one
I have been using andalou naturals for years! Pretty clean ingredients. The cannacell has a nice minty scent and I find the face cream works well. I usually do lavender when I do their body lotion. I am trying some local and lower waste brands right now, but honestly I really like them and should just write to them about packaging
I just tossed out half a tube of that Cannacell Sun Buddy sunscreen because it expired. I couldn’t get through it in two years because it left too much of a white cast for me, especially if I got wet like in the ocean or sweating from running—I looked like a mime, haha! So I used it as my backup for my shoulders, etc., if I knew I was going to be getting crazy sun (usually don’t really need sunscreen on the bod). But I guess for people who are not partially descended from Mexicans, that might be less of an issue.
Dammit. I was intrigued but I suppose it is not for olive skinned me.
My current SPF loves are the EleVen by Venus Williams Unrivaled Sun Serum SPF 35, and if I feel like I need a bit of tint, the ILIA Super Serum Skin Tint SPF 40.
Unfortunately, they are both really pricey, like $48–$50 for a one-ounce bottle. Also, the applicator for the EleVen SUCKS and I just dump it out into my hand. But they work and don’t ever make me look like a ghost. They can leave a bit of a dewy finish, so sometimes I use a blotting paper or mattifier if I’m not after a glow.
The ILIA comes in a TON of shades and I just went into an actual Sephora to figure out the best one for me because I had no clue. I ended up with #11 Matira (Medium with Cool Undertones).
I’ve been getting the Australia something tinted moisturizer. It’s been fine! I feel grumpy about spending a lot on sunscreen haha
Everything here I am 100% behind, except I wouldn’t buy the versed moisturizer again. It’s super expensive and I like b23 or andalou cannacell equally for that role. I also have some micellar water for if my makeup needs help, and salt for exfoliating
What do you feel the buffet does? I tried that once several years ago and it didn’t do anything bad but I didn’t notice a benefit either.
Sunscreen is the one area I actually prefer to spend money on—it’s so critical for me though because of a family history of skin cancer and fair completion. And I find I’m more apt to wear it daily if I like it!
I think for me it’s because if it is pleasant to wear and no whitecast, I’m fine. The sun protection doesn’t differ wildly based on formula, ya know?
Very true! I so rarely find one that is pleasant to wear. Always looking for good options, and I do feel like they’re so different now than they were when I was a kid?
I think that the immediate benefit is largely from the hyaluronic acid. I feel some potential anti-aging and brightening? I’m also on the pregnancy breastfeeding cycle so it’s a nice safe boost
Oh that last piece is good to know!
I am not a doctor or your doctor
Haha noted
i love this fancy oil cleanser so much. it smells like a dream and leaves my face so soft.
i buy the travel size because i am lackadaisical about my skincare routine and only end up using it a few times per week, so i can never get through the big one before it goes off.
sometimes i also use the mermaid mask from the same brand. then i finish up with the first aid beauty ultra repair cream.
sometimes i get a sample of sunday riley’s good genes and use that once a week or so until it runs out.
lackadaisical
Here is my shelfie. Thank you to the OMD-er who recommended cosrx snail, it’s been a game changer.I have very dry skin and live somewhere very dry, so my goal is to cling to whatever moisture I can.
Black Girl Sunscreen has also been a game changer for me: I’m about the same shade as sunscreen white cast, so that’s not a concern for me, but some friends with more melanin than I have raved about it. It makes my skin a little more glowy and doesn’t have a strong smell. I bought it at Target and will definitely keep buying it.
And, here is my body skincare shelfie, Dove soap not pictured. I am sorry to report that I love the serum, which is $$$. @madgeylou I am also a FAB fan!
ooh ive been curious about the ouai scrub! i love products like that but rose scents make my nose mad. how strong is the rose scent?
