Yes, they stay on really, really well. You take them off by wetting them (or wetting the area around them and sliding a wet finger under them, which is what I do) which breaks down the water-soluble adhesive. It’s a bit like having particularly stiff, large stamps stuck to your face.

This is so discouraging. Last night I thought, huh, my skin doesn’t look too bad today.
This morning, woke up to a face COVERED in red angry zits. WTF? I did nothing different. My period isn’t due. This is so frustrating, I am so tired of looking like this.

I’m sorry dude. That does sound so frustrating.

I probably shouldn’t have put acne medication on because I assume that will undo what I’m trying to do with the anti aging products - but I couldn’t help myself, it is that bad and some of them really hurt. :frowning:

I haven’t broken out this badly since I was in my early 20s and not on any hormonal birth control.

I hear really good things about colloidal patches for fast relief.

The things you stick on your zits? I’ve been curious about those. Will see where I can order them.

Yeah like the little zit bandaids. I think they have to have popped before you can use them, so maybe try to usher them along with a wet towel from the microwave? Some of the bloggers I follow lance them but … I am too faint for such things.

If it helps, I’m allergic to most bandaid adhesive and medical tapes, but I’ve never reacted to the little pimple stickers. I use a diabetic testing lancet on big white heads then cover them with the little round dots overnight. Helps a lot.

Is there a brand you like? There seem to be a lot when I google “pimple stickers.”

This is the only one I’ve used so far, this is my second box. :woman_shrugging:

I impulse bought a pack of these from the Evil Empire and also a pack of Frownies that @wooljaguar recommended. Oh well, I still have stimulus money left. I hope they actually work as intended.

(I just noticed that “absorption” is misspelled on the above package, haha.)

I know this is skincare, not haircare, but I just wanted to talk about how much I loathe Pantene and I regret lazing out of getting some nice sulfate/silicone hair products. My hair is suffering for it.

@TrisPrior: Youtube has videos by Reza Farhin who used to work for The Ordinary. I have found them helpful, and there are some for each of the brands they have.

If you don’t end up liking the Frownies enough to use the whole box, you could mail them to me whenever it is convenient and you are already going to mail something, and I will Venmo you some amount for them, since I will definitely use them. You could even just stick them in a baggie in a letter envelope. So at least it wouldn’t be a total financial loss even if they’re not for you.

OK, I would LOVE some help with sunscreen suggestions. I have very sensitive skin and lots of stuff burns. I also have that thing called dermatographia where you press on your skin and it leaves red marks.

I ended up slowly eating away my skin barrier when I tried this product (took forever to figure out): EltaMD UV Facial Broad Spectrum SPF Plus

The active ingredients are: Octinoxate 7.5%, Zinc Oxide 7.0%.

My face burned when I tried this product as well: EltaMD UV Physical Tinted Face Sunscreen, Chemical-Free Mineral Sunscreen for Sensitive and Post-Procedure Skin
Active ingredients are Zinc Dioxide and Titanium Dioxide. I had huge red splotches all over my face and chest about an hour after putting it on and my face felt weird while it was on.

So I figured I’d try a different all physical sunscreen, maybe one with just zinc. I tried this one: Neutrogena Pure & Free Baby Sunscreen.
Active ingredient is 21.6% zinc oxide.
There were less splotches and less of a weird feeling but I did get some splotches.

Any suggestions for sunscreens to try? Or should I just try to go to a dermatologist?

You can also see my face there. Eventually I’d like to do other stuff to take care of it, like treat the spots, pores, redness, and wrinkles. If you have any ideas I’m open to them! But first I think is just finding a sunscreen that works.

My skin has gotten worse and worse over the years with reactions. Makeup, pads, laundry detergent, etc. One night I ended up having to take Benadryl because my lady parts were ON FIRE for a brand of pads I’d previously used with no problems. Kinda funny once resolved.

Other stuff I use, hidden for length

Vanicream gentle cleanser daily
CeraVe Renewing SA cleanser 1x week
Moisturizer:
I loved La Roche-Posay Toleriane Double Repair Face Moisturizer, Oil-Free Face Cream with Niacinamide
Most of the CeraVe ones I’ve tried have burned.
And I tried Neutrogena Hydro Boost for Sensitive Skin (the blue one) and it is OK. Sometimes it stings and I think I’m just dry. Other times I wonder if it is something else. Sometimes it doesn’t sting at all.

I buy sunscreen made in Japan because everything else makes my skin unhappy. At the time anomalily had written up a list of brands to look for but that will be about 40 thousands posts back if it was even in her journal so I’m not looking lol

So far I’ve used a version\from Shiseido, bought on amazon because I couldn’t find it easily elsewhere without a minimum order, and my skin has done well.

The rest of my body isn’t as reactive, so I use a locally-made physical cream that is non-nano zinc, carrot seed oil, and red raspberry seed oil (non-regulated by FDA of course so not technically a sunscreen). It works surprisingly well but definitely has the white cast if I’ve applied it correctly.

No sunscreen suggestions, but funny story here. I didn’t think I had this when my allergenist asked, so then he drew a smiley face on my the back of my neck and took a picture to show me LOL. Point proven
