Zane exploring a newly re-formed pond by a storm drain. There were tadpoles! (Thankfully he did not see the tadpoles or we’d still be there and he would be covered in mud.)
And as I was considering if we should walk another branch of culdesacs Zane made the answer clear. It was rest time. And also being nosy about some dudes and their truck across the way.
I’m not sure. He’s twice as big now as when we adopted him almost three months ago. I actually need to weigh him tomorrow at the vet and get more flea/heart worm meds so I will report back but I have a growth chart going because I was curious.
Twice now when telling strangers his name is Zane and he’s still a puppy, they as “Like Great Dane?” so I’m very glad we had an actual Great Dane in our puppy training class. That five month old pup was tall enough that things on desk level would not be safe, Zane is not on that level yet.
Poor puppy. What did the vet do? Can they give them something for the swelling and pain?
When we first got His Lordship he ate something I never expected. We were in the backyard and I saw a wing hanging out of his mouth. I thought he had a baby bird. Orders to “drop it” did not work. The wing flapped. There was a buzzing noise. What? Then crunching sounds as he ate a cicada. He ate a 2nd one that day. Gross, but not as gross as what I originally thought. No vet visit and no apparent ill effects.
