I’ll have to share my extremely large H Mart haul soon! Is there another thread for grocery pics still? I spent $175 :pleading_face: I got a ride, so got a massively heavy stockpile of groceries. Great mix of fresh/pantry/frozen and I’m confident I didn’t overbuy. So far monthly total is $280 and given I won’t have to buy anything until mid February (I could maybe even make March 1st?) I think it was totally reasonable. I had so much fun and was throwing so much in my cart but before checkout I went through the store again and put back like 20% of the stuff that was too pricey, didn’t know what it actually tasted like, and I decided to pass on indulging in a stash of mochi ice cream for now. I got two packs of my favorite new rice noodle variety, and those are chestnuts in the back.

I made Hongshao Dofu for lunch this week (doubled the recipe, we’ll see how far it takes us). I haven’t tried this recipe before and my feeling is: it’s ok. It’s good if you want something very take-out like, maybe with the exception of the shiitake mushrooms. It’s not spicy at all and it’s sweet but that’s helped by the vegetables, which aren’t cooked for long. It’s pretty light overall. I was just in the mood for something more spicy and complex, I think, but husband really likes it! I also made some beef and rice to round it out.

I have been gifted some chocolate tahini. I could make chocolate hummus… or just eat it… but I’m intrigued by the suggestion on the jar of putting it in baked goods. What could I make with chocolate tahini?
