I think I’m going to have to declutter the shelf in my entry way closet and keep dog towels there. Reliably, the dog towels get used right at the front door most of the time, unless Oliver decides to “swim” in his water bowl, but even then it’s still in the same general area lol. That will definitely free up space in general linen storage

I feel like in the past week someone posted a blueberry muffin recipe in the forum, but I can’t find it.

I suppose the question is, can you please point me in the correct direction, or, if you weren’t the poster, share your favourite blueberry muffin recipe?

If you’ve misplaced a snail, is it unethical to have the robot vacuum overnight?

I assume the snail is a pet? I would personally hold off on the robot vacuum for at least one day, but no judgement on the ethics either way.

There is an app called migraine buddy that might be helpful. It provides an interface for you to track your migraines along with possible triggers and compiles the data to help you figure out what the triggers are and what you can do to prevent them. It is also helpful when you go to the doctor about it - you can take in the data and discuss what pharmaceutical options might exist.

They also send out really helpful emails and put together educational materials about migraines, prevention, treatments, etc.

Took the cat to the vet today, she has been drinking and peeing a lot. She has lost a pound since her last visit 8 months ago, which she cannot afford to do. I found out that she has hyperthyroidism, which I feel might be the best of the bad possible options? I have ordered a gel to apply to her ear because there is zero chance of giving her a pill.

Has anyone else dealt with this? I think it is a forever thing? Even if her numbers get better?

Yep, we went through this with our kitty. We did the gel for awhile and eventually did the Iodine Radiotherapy, which will cure the hypothyroidism. Ours was pretty old at the time of the treatment and passed away a year or so later, but its pretty straightforward and could be an option if the gel doesn’t work.

Do you guys know that bicycle helmets should be replaced every 5 years? Mine was made in 1995 so I guess I got my moneys worth!l purchased a new one last week.

I did not! Thank you for letting me know of something else I can declutter from my garage.

and even worse, did you know that means that if you bought a bike helmet for outside exercise during lockdown it is time to replace your helmet?

We did an oral med for Old Kitty. She passed of an unrelated cancer before I could get her the radiation therapy, but I definitely would have done the radiation if she had lived - the oral meds were making our lives soooo much worse.

May I ask the cost of the radiation therapy? I am pretty sure I can’t get it done near me so I don’t know that I would take her far away for it. Online it says it’s only at special clinics, I can look into it though.

I don’t think she will mind the gel on her ear, there’s no way I could pill her or squeeze a syringe into her mouth which I tried before when she had a UTI.

Sorry, it was 2021 and I don’t remember exactly. Probably around $2,000. It was quite a lot. But also it couldn’t have been much more than that or I would have said no.

We had 25 and 50% gains for a couple years straight on each, one year our HO insurance doubled. But now it hasn’t changed this years renewals basically at all.

I will plug, if you’re a Woman of a Certain Age, this ramping up can be a perimenopause hallmark and HRT brings relief for some. Just an avenue to explore if it applies.

Does anyone know anything about eyeglass prescriptions?

Went to a new eye doctor to update my last prescription from 2020 and he said the prescription hadn’t changed (but didn’t look at the actual prescription, just my current glasses) but after getting home I realized that the axis number went from 30 on the old prescription to 160 on this one, although all other numbers are the same. Is that a normal change or is it possibly a mistake? It does look like the number was 90 on the prescription before that from 2016 which makes me think it does just change?

I realize the most logical thing to do here is contact the doctor again but unfortunately I have extremely, extremely low expectations of that actually being successful

I don’t know much, but I know that my axis changed significantly this time from my last, and my doctor was concerned enough about it to recheck it to make sure it wasn’t a mistake

You probably have more astigmatism now!
