I also have quite a bit of linen thread which is pretty hard to find these days, and it is sized in the same 20/30/40 system that crochet cotton is.
Huh, now that’s pretty interesting (to me)!
Help! Need ideas for soft foods while my tooth problems are getting resolved. Mashed potatoes and soup is getting old!
Are you allowed foods with bits? Or just purees?
savoury oats?
scrambled eggs?
tuna salad?
This question
Between an infant with 3 teeth and a father with about 8 teeth, I have many recommendations for soft foods that can be mashed with gums. However, many have bits.
What kind of soups have you been doing btw? Might be able to help brainstorm some different flavors.
Yogurt
Applesauce
Rice + sauce
ETA: pudding (US kind, not UK kind), custard, ice cream, smoothies
From my own experience - I do not recommend peanut butter - I had had a tooth pulled and an abscess. I could barely open my mouth (and couldn’t use a straw). The peanut butter stuck EVERYWHERE (even though it was in a sandwich), and just a pain.
A scoop of hummus in the hollow of an avocado half is surprisingly yummy.
Oh dang
Bits are ok, so that opens up some possibilities.
Thanks for getting some ideas flowing. Avocado and hummus sounds amazing right now
My experience: if the avocado is slightly past ripe and so a bit muddy tasting the hummus makes it very muddy tasting. A bit of extra lemon juice can brighten it up.
Rice pudding/ vermicelli pudding
Overcooked spaghetti or mac and cheese or alfredo or carbonara
Really soft risotto or spankarizo
You can curry potatoes or spinach and paneer and have it really well cooked (you can also buy takeout and then cook it down with a few TBSP of water until it is mashably soft
Chili is actually pretty soft, and there are some pureed/less chunky versions that have fewer bits.
Split pea soup.
Tapioca pudding.
Oatmeal with peanut butter (real or powdered) and mashed banana.
