can you find equivalents for the muscle groups you were targeting with the machines that they have?
which moves could you do with the dumbbells? e.g. my instructor has us doing dead rows with barbells and dumbbells.

There are some things that are similar to barbell movements that you can do with dumbbells, if those sound like something you could do. Or maybe you could get a one-off session with a trainer to design a program for you?
I really like having a plan to follow so I don’t have to think about what I’m doing at the gym. I’ve been working out off and on with the SWEAT app for a few years now, and I like it a lot. There’s a ton of programs to choose from (I’m doing low impact strength right now), and you can tell the app what equipment you have and they’ll substitute exercises accordingly. You can also substitute specific exercises in the app because it’s too hard/you don’t like it/etc and it’ll recommend alternates.
If you want to work similar muscle groups, you can always post the old template here and we can try to make up something similar for you?
I have another question. I have been using latex caulk in the bathroom and it sucks so I’m going to try silicone.
My caulk gun specifically says it is for latex caulk but most caulk guns appear to be for both? Do I need a new caulk gun?
It shouldn’t make a difference.
I want to surprise my wife by getting her a sports bra because her current one is pretty old and discolored. (This is not meant as a replacement, but a complement to the existing.) But holy moly I have no idea how to size women’s clothing or even what brands are worth looking at. I want to get it at an actual brick and mortar store in case it needs to be returned.
So the question is…do you have any advice? The current one’s specs as far as I can determine:
I was eyeing this one perhaps. What do you think?
Are the measurements listed taken with the fabric stretched or unstretched?
Any logos or tags you can see to try to identify the brand?
Unstretched. No logos or tags at all. It looks like it’s a nice one, not a cheap one from what I can tell.
Sorry I’m not much help. I’ve never bought one of these before and am a complete newbie at this.
I’ve been wearing bras for like twenty years and it’s STILL hard to buy them.
If you know her regular bra size, you can use a size chart to help with sizing. Band sizing is stupid, but if it’s too big, then the bra doesn’t actually offer any support. If it’s too small, it’s hard to actually get the damn thing on. After that it’s style/level of support/compression. The one you’ve linked is a medium support, so good for most activities (depending on bust size, larger usually requires higher levels of support or compression), but probably not great for a runner or other high impact sports.
She doesn’t own any regular bras, so I don’t really know her size. She’s definitely more on the smaller side, bust-wise, but that’s all I can say with certainty. I was hoping the measurements I gave would be of some help in that regard.
This is very sweet but bra fit is so hard to predict, even with an actual known size, that I would honestly give up. Or get her a gift card/one of every size and then return most of them?
In a more sensible world, they would be.
Based on the measurements, I would actually go for an XS in that bra. If that seems ridiculous, though, go with your gut.
I think she will appreciate the gesture, even if the first size is wrong, especially if it is easy to exchange.
Maybe I should just take her along and get it together? The only problem with that is convincing her that it’s worth it. I love her for it, but getting her to buy new clothes is like pulling teeth! lol
That’s what I’ve done in the past, but I was really hoping to surprise her on this one. It sounds like I picked the wrong item to do it with.
Or maybe I’ll just get the one I linked to in the XS size as a starting point but still get the surprise in. Or wait…Costco must sell these, too, right? (Thinking out loud, figuratively)
You might need to take your tape measure into the store! And definitely get a gift receipt/have an easy exchange! If there are other bras, check those measurements as well. Unfortunately, almost no one lists actual garment dimensions, probably because the error range during manufacturing is actually quite high.
dWhat do you think about just bringing in the old one to the store and making a beeline to an employee?
I accidentally bought a 9.5 foot wide picture window for an amazing price, for the new house. Which is great. how do I set up curtains for such a big window?
I like the idea to buy your best guess size in something you think she’ll like and just save the receipt!
Retail employees are very unlikely to know much unless you go to a literal bra store but you could still compare.
I wear the same size sports bra that I wear in tops, not sure if that’s common? Could be another data point.
Costco sells sports bras but they are in the package so you would definitely be guessing at size! I like the ones I got there, though.
