It’s a fucking shit show. Potatoes seem to live on the floor and get kicked. Theoretically I’ll end up in a forever home with ventilated, dry dark storage for these things. Cotton grocery bags sometimes
Garlic and onions just need to be dry, not super warm, and ideally out of direct light. I store my garlic harvest in milk crates.
Potatoes need to be in dark, ideally on the cooler side but NOT the fridge. Temperatures too close to freezing make them turn sweet. I store mine in sacks or in plastic buckets with the lid off.
Query: how do y’all store different sizes of screws, hex wrenches, and other small fiddly bits/tools? Right now mine are being stored in a pile of plastic ziplocs, and it’s…not ideal
You can get little plastic organizers like craft stores have for beads. Or dump all your screws in one bag like I did
I store mine in the craft containers @Bracken_Joy mentioned. My dad stores them in old cans.
I have a small divided box with a clear lid that snaps shut. You can adjust the dividers so it works well. I think it’s from Menards.
Thanks y’all! I shall now investigate containers instead of taking care of my actual responsibilities
Who knows, the next global catastrophe could favor those who sorted all their fiddly bits just like this one favors people who happened to buy a ton of toilet paper in February. It’s good to be prepared.
My husband officially has admitted that he’s never allowed to criticize my higher than average pantry and household stores ever again
Greyman teased me for having 4 open blocks of asiago cheese when I had it on my grocery list. Now we’re out of asiago cheese. Who feels silly now?
I don’t see anything in the options but thought I’d ask just in case: is there a way to stop seeing the suggested topics section entirely? Or do you have to use the mute function to achieve that goal?
Is it worth getting a Microsoft Office Specialist/Expert certification to have something to point to and say “see, I’m really good at Word”? Like, do people take that any more seriously than me saying “I’m really good at Word and know how to do all the things”?
I don’t think you can mute the entire section – it’s built in as part of the forum software in a way I don’t think you can turn off. I believe you would have to mute the individual threads, which would keep it out of latest (and which I hope would also cause it to never be suggested to you).
@Oro, advice?
No advice! Lol. Muted threads still show up in Suggested Topics for me, too (this is some sort of glitch). I just ignore.
Anyone use Altair in Python/Jupyter for visualization? I’m just starting to learn it. Seems pretty cool, but took forever to set up.
I haven’t, but if it is a cool thing maybe I want to…
So… I got a used sweatshirt and it smells strongly of laundry detergent and makes it impossible for me to wear. How do I get the smell out? Will washing it with UNSCENTED laundry detergent get it out?
It’s something i’m still working on. Sorry!
Vinegar rinse maybe? Vinegar does a great job eliminating odors, and once it dries is odorless itself.
