I want a board of pizza.
I need to examine all the siding before we decide. If it’s all a few years from replacement, it might as well match, but if the rest has like ten years on it…
Important update: the boys admit to having damaged the siding with their foam axe throwing set.
Dang how hard can you even throw foam! Impressive and also annoying
You called it ![]()
(I’m glad and impressed the boys admitted to the damage! I’m sure they were hoping you wouldn’t notice, ha)
They say plastic lasts forever, but siding doesn’t.
Brace yourself, because people sneer at siding, but it’s not that cheap. It might be time to move to Italy after all…
Where do you buy good jewelry? Let’s say mid-range in terms of price, like not Tiffany’s or whatever but solid jewelry that you trust to be what it is says it is and don’t mind paying more for quality, and not just a name brand?
At my local renaissance festival, but that’s not very helpful to you.
Unless you want to come visit me during renfest season (August-October). Bring Ravi!
Tbh that sounds like a BLAST!
Honestly? Fred Meyer jewelers here has had some of the best price versus quality I’ve found. So yes that’s basically a jeweler store inside a grocery store
(they’re not just groceries but they’re owned by Kroger now)
My engagement and our wedding rings were a local jeweler though- good quality and much less expensive than Tiffany’s, I highly recommend looking for a small old established custom jeweler. Although maybe in Chicago that would be Tiffany’s expensive, idk
One of a kind show or someone who has exhibited there. Join us in Spring or Fall!
Indie co-op places.
But mostly I do not
I don’t either! But I want!
So clearly you spend the rest of the year visiting forumers and shopping at festivals together!
I will speak for the basic community! I have been happy with my purchases from Meijuri. I have a long-standing grudge against Brilliant Earth for how they handled my engagement ring, but I love the ring itself. I assume all claims both companies make about more ethical supply chains is marketing and will be exposed as a lie at some point.
Our rings are from meijuri and I love them! We waited in such a long line and it was very worth it. Also unfortunately they only had the wedding ring I wanted as a set, so I was forced to have my pink indie engagement ring PLUS two more stacking rings. Oh no so sad more sparkles for me. It was more than a year ago so I forgot until you reminded me
If you were checking fasting blood sugar to get a weekly/monthly average, would you check in the am before “breakfast time” every day (before going to work) or would you wait until before you actually eat your first meal? Sometimes I eat breakfast and sometimes I do not, so I am thinking to test before I eat, at whatever time that may be. Right or wrong?
ETA the later I check the lower my number is, but I don’t want to skew anything.
If you want to have fun considering & shopping, maybe a local independent jewelry maker? We got very simple wedding rings from bario-neal.com (they were just starting out 13 years ago and avg prices/elaborateness seem to have gone up but the basics are still there) and an Etsy maker. Quick search turns up https://www.lindsay-lewis.com and Love and Promise in Chicago.
I would check at the same time every day (before work) as long as it’s before eating. Basically your blood sugar is coming down overnight from what you ate the night before, so checking at a different time every day makes the numbers less comparable.
IANAD or lifelong blood sugar checker, this was from my ~4 month experience with GD.
Fasting is ideally first thing in the morning. Personally, I check as soon as I get up in the morning. You definitely want it before you have coffee or tea, even if they’re black, because caffeine can interfere with your values as well. But whenever it is, it must be before eating
For a fasting lab draw, they’ll generally accept a value up to like nine or 10 AM, as long as you haven’t eaten anything.
