Heyyyyy mag drip buddies! If you ever want to commiserate on the unique hells of a preE pregnancy, feel free to message me!
I feel so lucky that it was postpartum so I didn’t have to live with the tension of it through the actual pregnancy. It means I blew through the “night away from baby” milestone way sooner than expected, but that seems a lot easier than having pre-e complicate the pregnancy itself! I can only imagine how that would feel.
a clean version of google is possible if you add &udm=14 to the url
I have experience with the emotional and mood symptoms of anxiety and have some tools to deal, but I’ve never had physical symptoms this bad before. Anyone with experience with those have ideas for me?
Worst symptom right now is feeling nauseated but last night it I had chills and cold sweats and then hot sweats and threw up once, plus I couldn’t sleep at all. What do I eat? Anything else that usually helps relieve the physical symptoms?
I had this a looot for a while and for a while I took multiple showers a day because something about the sound and feel sensory input helped reset something.
Hi yes, I feel anxiety primarily in my stomach. My Tips:
- Stay hydrated
- Wear layers so you can respond quickly to body temp changes
- Suck on sour candy or ginger candy or mints can help with nausea sometimes
- Keep food bland. BRAT diet. Some broth or ramen (from the packet) or toast or oatmeal
- Know you are not alone. Reach out to people you love and tell them how you are feeling
Does anyone else have blue cross blue shield? My health plan for next year isn’t hsa eligible and it looks like they aren’t offering any hsa eligible plans. Is that anybody else’s experience?
I think that’s something your company chooses. I have BCBS and an HSA.
Yeah, it would be the decision of whoever is providing the plan (eg your job if your insurance comes through your job). I’d send a nice email complaining about it in your position, but you know your company best
It’s through the marketplace. We don’t have health insurance at work.
Slight chance you’re sick- but adding to the other advice, cool wet cloth on your forehead (hot and cold have science stuff to back them up). Smelling salts (no, but herbal tea, essential oil or perfume- just sniff first to make sure soothing and not nauseating). Outdoor time (the worst. Why do nature and walking help when we want to burrow).
If you’re pretty sure your stomach will cooperate you can try swimming. It helped me until 15 min later I got a call to pick up a dysregulated kid on my bike when I didn’t have his helmet.
And this one is more obnoxious than nature. Basically sitting or lying, acknowledging the feeling, maybe touching the affected part and talking to it.
That’s so dumb, sorry!
Fast walks outside are an incredibly effective hard reset on my body. Letting myself get cold tends to help the most with the nausea aspect IME.
Lmao to me I know, but - has anyone in the US gotten a new passport lately? How long did it take? We have new legal names as of yesterday
We paid for expedited passports in May, looks like we went to the passport office May 1st (since we were getting one for Kiddo also) and we received them May 16th which was a week sooner than we had expected even for expedited service.
Edit: And I forgot to say congrats on the new names!
Congrats on the new names!!! Now you just have to update it with the vet and you will always know Louie’s last name when you call them
There is also a fancy passport office in Aurora where they print same-day passports. You pay A LOT, and there are no appointments, it is walk-in only, but it is also an option if you really need to travel quickly. I’m assuming that isn’t the case, but I just wanted to mention it to make others aware as well. You have to show proof of international travel within the next few weeks to do it that way.
*I have worked with DOS on that office, and I’m helping them build another one of those offices in SLC!
Thanks, I just signed up! What a coincidence because I am actually going to Canada next week.
Oh, yay! Happy to help then! I didn’t know these offices existed until I started working on some of the DOS construction projects!
You are coming to Canada?
