It’s bad timing because husband just replaced his phone like 2 weeks ago so I had a panic period of “oh no he’s got a lemon”

Oooooh boy it’s working now :grimacing::grimacing::grimacing: poor husband. Like 3 people all want to talk RIGHT NOW!!!

That’s how I felt the morning post hurricane when neither of our phones were working and I had just convinced husband for us to switch from ATT to Mint. Just a big “oh shit, I screwed us over trying to save money.”

But no, it was just a widespread failure of communications systems, not of @Marcela

Gift idea help! My MIL is staying at our house for a week while we travel to take care of our dog. She lives on Diet Coke and wine and pretends not to eat food, so food treats are out. She’s a gifting as a love language type person, we have very little in common and she’s not very forthcoming. I’ve known her 20 years now and can’t even tell you what town she grew up in or how much school she did (my husband knows even less about her than I do since he never pries), very basic info is :woman_shrugging:

Anyway what do you get someone that you’re in a “pretend to be on good terms but don’t actually know at all” relationship and are very unclear on any of their actual preferences. :face_with_spiral_eyes:

At this point I have… leave Diet Coke, have husband make her sourdough, get flowers.

This sounds like the perfect person to bring back a bunch of rocks from your trip and make them a shadow box full of memories

That’s not a bad idea, we just did first birthday photos. I could also sneak in Latte art since she never wants to give it away but she won’t be there to see. Hmmm.

I always do a hand lotion set for Christmas, but otherwise she’s not really a spa products person as far as I can tell.

Hmm. Gift card for coffee shop, or coffee/tea basket? Experience/tickets/membership to art museum or concert something?

Leave more diet coke. No. More.

Maybe a veggie tray you ran out of time to eat, and some almonds and chips and a fancy cheese/olives (without claiming those are for her).

Flowers, pictures and art seem nice.

Doesn’t drink coffee or tea. Doesn’t drive herself much at all. While here my SIL will pick her up to visit Cousin during the days. Lives 3 hours from the nearest small “city”

Anyone have suggestions for things to do in a day in Boston on a weekend? Like noon-10pm on one day is the time frame!

Looking to eat good food, be semi active, probably get some Dunkin.

What time of year? Ferry to Boston Harbor Islands, walk around an island, eat an outside snack or meal. Ends in October though.

Mid October! So that could be perfect.

The MFA has what I’m told is a very cool exhibit about Korean fashion/pop culture through February. Its next to the Fens which is a cool park with great community gardens.

The Boston secret that took me way too long to realize is that stuff is really close together and you can walk to a lot of it, even if it’s 3 or 4 T stop away. So if you want to do indoor things with walks in between it’s very doable.
